Recently, the United States has once again provided Japan with a large number of missiles, and this is not the first time. Earlier, the United States and Japan had already reached a contract promising to send Japan a large number of missiles in the coming years, including the famous Tomahawk and Sidewinder missiles. The series of arms deals has sparked speculation about U.S. intentions. In fact, the reason why the United States provides missiles to Japan so frequently is mainly due to its so-called "Indo-Pacific strategy" and containment of China. The United States considers China's rise to be a threat to its hegemony and therefore does not allow the existence of a country comparable to its own strength. In addition, Japan is also willing to participate in this arms deal, in addition to following in the footsteps of the United States, it also has its own military ambitions. Japan wants to provide a pretext for its own military expansion by labeling China a "threat". Not only that, the United States has also contained seven countries, including Australia, the United Kingdom, Canada, New Zealand, Japan and India, in the layout of the "Indo-Pacific Strategy", making them an important player in its geopolitical competition.
In addition to supplying missiles to Japan, the United States actively engages in military cooperation with other countries in the Asia-Pacific region. For example, the United States, the United Kingdom, and Australia have reached agreements on nuclear submarine cooperation, further strengthening their security partnership. In addition, the United States has also strengthened its military ties with these countries by hyping up the "first-class relationship" between China and Russia and guiding NATO to point the finger at the Indo-Pacific region. However, it remains to be seen whether such military cooperation will be able to achieve the goals of the United States. For example, the United States plans to increase the number of drones to counter China, but this strategy may not be very effective. You know, China not only has a large number of drones of its own, but is also one of the main exporters of drones, which means that China already has the ability to counter drones. Therefore, if the United States wants to contain China through drones, it may not work.
In the face of frequent missile development and expanded military cooperation with the United States, China needs to make strategic calculations and take corresponding countermeasures. First, China needs to maintain a high level of vigilance in areas such as the South China Sea, the East China Sea, and the Taiwan Strait, where proximity to U.S. allies is at greater risk. With regard to the South China Sea, China needs to show its firmness and deter the United States and its allies from the difficulties, but it must not give them the opportunity to take advantage of the difficulties. Second, China should skillfully balance the interests of all parties and strengthen cooperation and communication with its neighbors to enhance its own geopolitical competitiveness. In addition, China should further enhance its military capabilities and technological capabilities to meet external challenges and threats.
In the face of the frequent moves of the United States to send missiles to Japan, we have seen from this the selfishness and cold-bloodedness of US hegemonism. In order to maintain its hegemonic status, the United States does not hesitate to sacrifice regional peace and stability and constantly contain China. However, the U.S. calculation will not necessarily work, because China already has its own military strength and the ability to protect its interests. China will continue to work towards peaceful development and the vision of building a community with a shared future for mankind, and make positive contributions to regional stability and prosperity. At the same time, China will further strengthen cooperation and communication with neighboring countries to jointly address challenges and promote regional peace and development.
