In 2023, we bid farewell to the three-year epidemic, and the majority of industry enterprises, entrepreneurs and practitioners withstood many pressures, overcame various difficulties, fully resumed work and production, and ensured that the economy rebounded. Modern logistics is playing an increasingly important role in the construction of a strong country and the great cause of national rejuvenation, and the beautiful picture of China's logistics is slowly unfolding.
Looking back on 2023, the logistics industry has ushered in a recovery growth, and it is expected that the total amount of social logistics will reach 350 trillion yuan throughout the year, and China is still the logistics market with the largest demand in the world. The contribution rate of demand in key areas such as manufacturing upgrading, new forms of consumption, and new energy has increased steadily, while subdivisions such as e-commerce logistics and instant distribution have maintained rapid growth. The logistics cost of the whole society has been steadily declining, and the ratio of total social logistics cost to GDP has been further reduced.
Looking back on 2023, the 10th anniversary of the Belt and Road Initiative, the General Secretary announced China's eight actions to support high-quality Belt and Road cooperation, the first of which is to build a three-dimensional interconnection network of the Belt and Road. In the past ten years, nearly 80,000 China-Europe freight trains have been operated, and the new western land-sea corridor and the China-Laos railway have unleashed their potential, ushering in new opportunities for China's logistics to open up.
Looking back on 2023, positive achievements have been made in the construction of major logistics infrastructure, with more than 2,500 logistics parks above designated size in the country, 125 national logistics hubs, 100 demonstration logistics parks, 66 national backbone cold chain logistics bases, more than 5.3 million kilometers of highways and 15 railway operating miles50,000 kilometers, 1650,000 kilometers, the logistics operation system of "channel + hub + network" has begun to take shape.
Looking back on 2023, the leading enterprises with international competitiveness will grow rapidly, with more than 5 100-billion-level enterprises among the top 50 logistics enterprises in China for the first time, more than 9,600 A-level logistics enterprises in the country, and 250 first-class chain innovation and application demonstration enterprises in the country. A group of leading logistics entrepreneurs have undergone training and testing, striving to be world-class, and some advantageous enterprises have been recognized by the capital market.
Looking back on 2023, digital technology and the real economy will be deeply integrated, and the logistics and chain fields will become the focus. There are about 3,000 network freight companies in the country, empowering small, medium and micro logistics enterprises to embark on the "digital highway". Large enterprises have built first-class chain service platforms to embrace the industrial Internet of Things. The pilot project of intelligent networked vehicle access and road access has been launched, and unmanned vehicles, unmanned warehouses, and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) have been widely commercialized, changing the way logistics operations are carried out.
Looking back on 2023, green and low-carbon logistics has become a hot spot. **Issued the Action Plan for Continuous Improvement of Air Quality, proposing to vigorously develop a green transportation system. The China Federation of Logistics and Purchasing officially launched the public carbon emission calculator for the logistics industry, marking the start of international and domestic mutual recognition of carbon emissions. Pilot projects have been carried out for the full electrification of public sector vehicles such as postal express vehicles and urban distribution vehicles.
Looking back on 2023, we are also facing the challenge of resilience and security, and at the first China International Chain Promotion Expo, China put forward the "China Plan" to deepen the international cooperation of the industrial chain, which has been widely recognized by the international community.
The above achievements have not been easy to achieve. It should be attributed to the guidance of the Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics in the New Era and the guidance of the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, to the good market environment created by the leading departments at all levels and relevant parties, and to the tenacious struggle and hard work of the majority of market entities, entrepreneurs and all employees

In the new year, the digital transformation of logistics will continue to improve, and ISO officially approved the establishment of the Technical Committee on Innovative Logistics (ISO TC 344) in China to promote the standardization and internationalization of digital logistics, and contribute "Chinese wisdom" to lead the development of digital logistics.
In the new year, green and low-carbon will release the social value of logistics, carbon emission trading rules will be gradually improved, and logistics emission reduction costs will gradually be transformed into social value, which will help the industry to fully transform to green and low-carbon.
