At 10 a.m. on December 26, Longsheng Autonomous County of all nationalities held a ceremony for the completion and opening of the Longsheng-Dongzhong Port Highway from Longsheng Furong to the county seat (referred to as Longcheng Expressway). The opening of Longcheng Expressway means that the journey from Longsheng County to Longsheng Furong Village on the border of Guixiang will be shortened from 60 minutes to 25 minutes, and the opening pattern of Guangxi's "North Union" has been further improved.

It is understood that Longcheng Expressway is an important part of the G72 parallel line G7221 Hengyang to Nanning Expressway of the national highway network, and it is also the northernmost section of the Longsheng-Dongzhong Port Highway in the planning of the Guangxi Expressway network, which is a major transportation infrastructure project coordinated and promoted at the autonomous region level. The total length of the main line is about 3217 km, using two-way four-lane standard construction, design speed 100 km/h. It is invested, constructed and operated by Guangxi New Development Transportation Group, a direct subsidiary of Guangxi Beibu Gulf Investment Group. The starting point of the project is located in Longsheng Furong Village at the junction of Hunan and Guangxi, and is connected to the Hunan Expressway network, and the route mainly passes through three townships and towns of Longsheng Autonomous County, including Madi Township, Surabaya Township and Longsheng Town, and ends near Longsheng Shuangdong Village. There are 2 toll stations in Furong and Longsheng North and Surabaya service area on the whole line.

Along the Longsheng line, the mountains are steep, the river valley is deep, and the terrain and geological conditions are complex. The straight-line distance from the county seat to the northernmost town of Furong is less than 30 kilometers, and it is known as "twelve turns and twenty-six turns" because of the blocking of mountains and the turn of peaks and loops. Longcheng Expressway is in it, with 28 bridges and 4 tunnels on the main line, with a bridge-tunnel ratio of 5837%。Complex geological conditions are the biggest challenge to the construction of the project, and the final completion of the Longcheng Expressway is full of the painstaking efforts of the builders to overcome difficulties day and night.

In the past three years, we have overcome the problems of inconvenient transportation, narrow construction site, complex geological conditions, and high construction risks, and grasped the five major work priorities of 'high-quality projects, model projects, green projects, safe projects, and clean projects' with the overall construction goal of "three beauties and three good", and delivered a high-quality, safe, comfortable, green and beautiful multi-ethnic eco-tourism highway connecting Guixiang for the people along the line. Huang Qiang, magistrate of Longsheng Autonomous County, said that the Longcheng Expressway passing through the two townships of Longsheng Madi and Surabaya was the place where the Red Army's Long March passed through that year, and it was also the main battlefield of Longsheng's "13th Five-Year Plan" poverty alleviation.
