According to overseas ** reports, at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) held in Las Vegas recently, Volkswagen launched a new ChatGPT-based in-vehicle intelligent system that can quickly respond to users' voice commands. The company has integrated the smart system into the in-car voice assistant "IDA," which was launched just last year, and users can simply say "Hello IDA" or press a button on the steering wheel to enable the feature, much like activating an Amazon Alexa device or Apple's Siri feature. While BMW, Mercedes-Benz and other automakers offer similar voice-activated systems, only Volkswagen is currently the only one that integrates ChatGPT into its voice assistant. It is reported that the project was launched by Volkswagen in cooperation with the American company Cerence, which specializes in developing voice assistant technology for the automotive market.
Volkswagen says that the first cars with the new program are based on the MEB and MQB EVO platforms: ID3、id.4、id.5、id.7 and** tiguan, passat, and golf. The program will be fitted as standard equipment on all models, with the first cars arriving at dealerships in the second quarter of this year. In addition to the usual functions, the smart version of IDA can answer a range of questions, such as recommending high-scoring restaurants nearby, or detailing nearby tourist attractions and attractions.
For those concerned about information security, Volkswagen says that IDA does not require users to create an account and does not have access to any vehicle data, and questions and answers are deleted as soon as they are sent out to ensure the highest possible level of data protection. Volkswagen also claims that the program is currently still under development and is considering launching this new feature in the North American market.
