Vocabulary requirements for each subject.

Listening:

I don't know if you often feel that you can understand a single word, but when you listen to it in the exam room, you can't hear it, and you can't respond quickly, and even if you hear it, there is a problem with the spelling.

In this case, it is necessary to improve the sensitivity of words, and you can use the method of listening and memorizing to improve the ability to accurately listen to words.

At the same time, it can also be classified according to the vocabulary of listening scenarios, for example, according to the vocabulary of IELTS, it can be divided into life, environment, Xi learning and work scenes (library, academic classroom), shopping (item purchase, return and exchange), etc.

Specific to the Xi scenario of library science, the words that can be classified are information desk sector and membership feeBook genre: fiction, reference books, technical books, magazines

Speaking:

The most important thing in spoken language is pronunciation and word meaning. The official advice is to recite according to the topic, and the commonly used topics are:

Money (money);Efficiency;Health;Social Relationship;Rights and Obligations (right&duty);environment;Education

Writing:

The most important thing in writing vocabulary is to remember spelling, and just like speaking, writing is about conjunctions and sentences, so it is equally important to memorize conjunctions and phrases, as well as to master some commonly used substitutions.

For example, if you want to express "A is important to B" in the article, many people's first reaction may be that the expression "Ais veryimportant to B" is not wrong, but it is difficult to make the examiner's eyes shine, and change the expression, such as "A is considerableimportanttob" or "aplays **italrolein B", which adds a lot of color to the article and makes the expression more accurate.

In the final analysis, English words are still used in the language, so when memorizing words, it should be supplemented with a lot Xi of listening and writing practice to consolidate the pronunciation, meaning and usage of words through repeated use.

Read:

To prepare for the IELTS Reading part of the vocabulary, it is recommended to master (at least recognize) all the vocabulary in the academic vocabulary list, and memorize them according to the topic.

In fact, not every word that appears in the test paper needs to be fully understood and know how to spell, and the focus is on memorizing the English form, pronunciation and Chinese meaning of the word. Especially in the IELTS reading section, only the words with the same tenonym conversion between the question and the original text are the focus of the test, so you need to accumulate more synonymous replacement words.

Never grab an IELTS vocabulary book and start memorizing it, the improvement of word volume does not depend on rote memorization.

According to the law of forgetting discovered by the German psychologist Ebbinghaus, most people forget 42% of a piece of content after 20 minutes of memorizationAfter 1 hour, 56% of them are forgotten

After one day, forget 67%. So, when you memorize the content you memorized the day before and check it the next day, most of the content will only feel familiar, but you won't be able to remember the meaning.

Knowing this law, we can divide it into three phases to fight forgetting.

The first stage is to set up a group of 5 words when you memorize words for the first time, and the specific operation is as follows.

After memorizing words 1-5, immediately cover Chinese detection words 1-5 After memorizing words 6-10, immediately cover Chinese detection words 6-10, then detect words 1-10 After memorizing words 11-15, immediately cover Chinese detection words 11-15, and then detect words 1-15

And so on ......

In this way, you can memorize the words many times when you memorize them for the first time, and you can definitely maximize the memorization effect.

The second stage is to repeat the Xi at least three times on the day of memorizing words, and it is recommended that the time interval between each Xi repetition is 2-3 hours, and the re Xi petition plan that meets your own conditions is arranged in combination with your own time. But finally, before going to bed that day, it is highly recommended that you do one last Xi work.

Because according to the conclusions that psychology has determined, the content of concentrated thinking before going to bed will be subconsciously sorted out by the brain during sleep, which helps to form long-term memory, and a simple step can double the effect of Xi.

The third stage is to periodically re Xi the words that have been memorized in the previous days, according to the law of forgetting, you can set the tasks that you need to re-Xi every day, and then put the words that need to be re-Xi and the new words that need to be memorized that day into a unit, and re-Xi 3 times on the same day.

In this way, it seems that there are a lot of words to be re-Xi every day, but because this method of re-Xi will make the words memorized before very deep, the speed of re-Xi old words will be very fast, basically will not take up a lot of energy, and after continuous re-Xi, the memory of the words will be kept longer, and these words can immediately remember the meaning when they appear again, bringing a sense of accomplishment at the same time, it can also enhance the motivation to learn words and Xi form a virtuous circle.
