The old man took the initiative to identify himself, saying that he was a master of easy mathematics and had a relationship with him, and claimed that he had calculated that Yuan Huang should be the life of an official, and should not sell medicine here. He said that if Yuan Huang started studying, he would definitely be admitted to Xiucai next year. Although Yuan Huang didn't believe it, he also listened to the old man's words. After returning home, he discussed with his mother, and his mother told Yuan Huang that if Yuan Huang was willing to take the test to become famous, he would support it. Yu and Yuan Huang began to study Xi hard. In the second year, he took the exam on time, and the results of the exam surprised Yuan Huang very much, because things were just like what the old gentleman said, he really won the show, and even his ranking was exactly the same as the old gentleman said. Zen Master Yungu asked Yuan Huang why he could meditate for three days without moving, and how ordinary his practice was. I saw Yuan Huang sigh a long sigh, and said Mr. Kong's ** and his past, and now his heart is like ashes, like dead wood and stubborn stones.
Yungu Zen Master smiled, I still think you are an extraordinary person?If two people with the same fate are miserable, two people do the same good deeds, one fate improves and becomes rich and rich, and the other is still miserable, what is the difference, the fundamental lies in whether you have changed your heart in the past, whether you are ashamed of the past unkindness, if you change on the surface, just for the result, naturally there is no change, and your fate is not completely determined by heaven, but in your own hands. Blessings are also cultivated by good deeds. Otherwise, how can a person who has attained enlightenment be able to jump out of the karma of the cycle of birth and death?It's all about your heart.
After saying goodbye to the Zen master, Yuan Huang felt suddenly enlightened. He began to reflect on his own behavior, realizing that although he was usually amiable on the surface, he was actually full of anger in his heart, and he always took care of his family and friends, only out of observance of etiquette and culture, and never did good deeds from the heart. He decided to change his name to Yuan Lifan. This new name means that he wants to live an ordinary life, start over, and start doing good deeds, no longer floating on the surface as before.
A year later, Yuan Huang took the exam as scheduled. Before the exam, he visited Mr. Kong again and counted it. Mr. Kong told him that he would take the third place. However, after the results of the exam came out, Yuan Huang actually took the first place in the exam and successfully won the lift. Mr. Kong's ** has been accurate before, but this time it has been biased. This shows that human beings can change their lives against the sky. , Yuan Huang continued to do good deeds and accumulate blessings, and in the following exams, he successfully passed the Jinshi and was appointed as the county commander. During his tenure, he vowed to do more good deeds. He firmly believes in what Zen Master Yungu said: as long as you work hard towards your dreams, the heavens will see you. Sure enough, as he wished, Yuan Huang's wish came true a year later. His wife became pregnant and gave birth to a son, and lived a long life.
In his later years, Yuan Huang resigned and returned home and began a healthy life. He believes that his life is very legendary and feels the need to record his experience to provide a reference for future generations. So he began to conceive his own essays, and eventually wrote four classic works that have survived to this day: "The Study of Life", "The Method of Reform", "The Way to Accumulate Goodness", and "The Effect of Humility and Virtue". These articles have become a precious wealth in people's hearts, and they have also become the spiritual inheritance left by Yuan Huang to future generations. These four texts have been combined into the Four Teachings of Lifan, which is short but profound.
