Nanjing, Dec. 27 (Xinhua) -- The 2023 National Taekwondo Championship Finals ended in Wuxi, Jiangsu Province on the 27th, and the teams from Zhejiang, Henan, Xinjiang and Guangdong each won one gold on the last day of the competition.
On the same day, the women's 46kg final was launched between Jiangxi player Wang Shiyi and Zhejiang player Fu Xiaolu. The first two games of the game were evenly matched. At the end of the third game, Fu Xiaolu established an advantage with a backspin kick to the torso, and finally won the championship, and she also became the winner of the women's best technical award in this event.
In the women's 49kg final, Shandong player Wang Xiaolu and Xinjiang player Ma Jingyue fought to a 6:6 draw.
Henan's Zhao Jiongpu defeated Shanxi's Zhang Caorui in the men's 87kg final to win his first gold medal in the event. Wang Yaoxi of the Guangdong team defeated Zhao Xinbo of the Shanxi team 2:0 and won the men's championship above 80 kg.
The three-day competition saw a total of 499 athletes from 35 teams across the country compete for the championship in eight categories for men and women. In the end, Shandong, Zhejiang, Fujian, Guangdong and Xinjiang teams each won 2 golds, and Shanxi, Henan, Anhui, Beijing, Guizhou and Qinghai teams each won 1 gold.
As a national taekwondo professional event with the highest annual point level, this competition is held immediately after the World Taekwondo Grand Slam Championship Series and the World Taekwondo Team World Cup Championship, which is conducive to domestic athletes, coaches and referees to combine "watching and learning" and "actual combat drills" to quickly improve technical ability and professional level, and will also promote the development level of China's taekwondo project in line with the international development trend.
From the 30th to the 31st of this month, the 2023 National Taekwondo Club League Finals will also be held in Wuxi.
