In order to ensure the maximum comfort and safety of the G20 delegation, during the G20 Summit, Indonesia** has established strict and orderly health protocols, such as registration with the Indonesian Health Treasure (Pedulilinndungi) and the provision of new crown vaccination certificates.
Delegates are required to register their vaccination status through the Indonesian Health Pack (PeduliNdungi). To make it easier for everyone to use Indonesia Health Pack, Indonesia Health Pack is available in 13 languages, including Indonesian, Chinese, English, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, Turkish and Arabic. For delegates who may have symptoms of the disease, the conference team has prepared robust health service facilities, including clinics, small ICUs, mobile medical teams and referral hospitals.
In order to provide the best comfort and safety for the arriving VIPs, Indonesia** has prepared the VVIP terminal at Ngurah Rai International Airport in Bali for VIPs from all over the world. The terminal features a traditional Balinese pavilion design (wantilan) that is perfectly integrated with a modern touch, showcasing the local wisdom of Bali and the modernity and cosmopolitanity of the Island of the Gods. Other facilities, including the international and domestic passenger terminals and cargo area, have also been renovated with every effort made to provide the best possible arrival experience for our valued guests. In addition to this, at other airports, there are special passages and rest areas for representative flights.
Sustainability was one of the important issues discussed at the G20 summit. To this end, Indonesia** has put into use more than 1,000 electric vehicles (EVs) as the main means of transportation for the conference, including 962 electric vehicles, 454 electric motorcycles and 36 electric buses, which is an effective measure for Indonesia's energy transition, fulfilling Indonesia's commitment to energy transition and demonstrating Indonesia's efforts to reduce carbon emissions. This initiative is also supported by Japanese automakers, with Toyota and Lexus producing 143 electric vehicles for the conference. I hope that everyone can work together to achieve carbon neutrality.
As the host of the 2022 G20, Indonesia is committed to providing guests with an enjoyable stay. To this end, Indonesia's Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy has prepared 23 hotels in the three districts of Jimbaran, Nusa Dua and Kuta to provide quality services to delegates. Indonesia's Ministry of Tourism will also regulate hotels in these three regions with a view to achieving occupancy rates of 80 to 100 percent. Indonesia's Minister of Tourism himself, Sandiaga Uno, also invited delegates to enjoy a wonderful holiday in Bali after the summit.
The G20 summit also showcased Bali's extraordinary attractions. The summit delegates were welcomed at the Mangrove Tahura Ngurah Rai and Garuda Square (GWK) Cultural Park, both of which are natural and cultural treasures, reflecting Indonesia's commitment to both nature and humanity.
Ngurah Rai Mangrove Park is an area of 13735 hectares of mangrove forest along the Ngurah Rai Bypass Road. In addition to its stunning views of the jungle, it also makes an outstanding contribution to environmental protection, which has been proven to improve air and water quality.
And Garuda Garuda Garuda (GWK) Cultural Park, which is one of Bali's landmarks. This expansive park is home to one of the tallest and largest modern statues in the world at the moment, the Condor. Conceived by Indonesia's finest sculptor, Nyoman Nuarta, the 121-metre-tall and 64-metre-wide statue is a symbol of the archipelago's cultural heritage.
The main venue chosen to host the 2022 G20 Summit is Apurva Kempinski, a high-end resort located on the scenic beachfront of Nusa Dua. The resort features 475 rooms, suites and villas with upscale and exotic interiors, as well as one-of-a-kind cuisine, spa and more.
