Writer Lin Wenxun and Wang Jialing, president of Li Jieren Research Society, were invited to share as guests, and more than 60 people, including book friends of Lingyi Reading Club, Li Jieren research enthusiasts, and college students, participated in the event.
At the event, Lin Wenxun recalled the bits and pieces of his father Lin Ruji's relationship with Li Jieren. "Uncle Li and my father share the same literary aspirations and similar study abroad experiences, and are very interested in traditional culture. In the summer of 1962, Uncle Li took a jeep to Sichuan University to pick up my father and go to the 'Sanyi Gong' on Chunxi Road to watch Sichuan Opera, and I also followed. Uncle Lee sat in the passenger seat, and I sat behind him. He didn't talk much, occasionally had conversations with my father, and seemed very depressed. They are intellectuals of the older generation, and they have the feeling of worrying about the country and the people. Teacher Lin said. On December 30, 1962, six days after Li Jieren's death, the Chengdu Municipal People's Committee held a public memorial for Li Jieren in the Zhigong Hall of the old imperial city. Shatin's diary recorded: "Ruji was not excited, but she cried after reading the introduction. ”
Wang Jialing shared his experience of reading Li Jieren's works. He said that Li Jieren's ** is addictive to read, and his works are large-scale, presenting the social situation of the period of great historical changes in the past 20 years from the First Sino-Japanese War to the Xinhai Revolution, which has both literary beauty and history, which benefits from his deep foundation in Chinese culture and superb research on French realism and naturalistic literature. Li Jieren knows western Sichuan, and he also has rich life experience, so his "Dahe ** Trilogy" is so real and rich. The charm of Li Jieren's writing lies in his multi-perspective writing of characters, as well as his profound grasp and depiction of women's psychology.
In Lin Wenxun's view, the characters created by Li Jieren are very active and vivid, and his works truly record the times, just like Leo Tolstoy's "War and Peace", which writes about the times and the times;Li Jieren is also the master of Sichuan's "Longmen Array". From the current point of view, Li Jieren's research has just begun, and it is not enough, and Li Jieren's literary works should be evaluated higher.
