MIT Sloan School of Management: Find answers to questions in the classroom
Dai Wenliang
Fudan MBA 2022 International Class 1, co-founder of VATIONX, product and business leader.
MIT Sloan School of Management
Theme: Leadership, Entrepreneurship and Analysis of the Future of Innovation.
As a STEM person who is starting my own business, I would like to have the opportunity to visit MIT to experience first-hand its rigorous and pragmatic academic spirit, and to learn about the practices that highly integrate business and practice in the Sloan School of Management curriculum. The theme of the study tour "Creating the Future: Leadership, Entrepreneurship and Business Analysis" is very consistent with the core topics involved in the current business society and business environment, and also echoes the science and technology innovation strategy of Fudan Management Institute of "No Science and Technology, No Future".
How does MIT deconstruct the opportunities and challenges in the entrepreneurial environment? How can leadership theory be better applied to practice? How to combine personal development and career goals with the trends of the times? These are all things that I am curious about and want to go further. I found the answers I was looking for in courses like "MIT Ecosystem," "Business Strategies for a Sustainable Future," and "Marketing Innovation."
There is a strong research atmosphere in the classroom, and the professors encourage everyone to find solutions to innovative problems independently, and the vibrant campus life ......All these made me feel the dedication and dedication of this well-known university to cultivate "future world business leaders".
The overseas courses have broadened my horizons and allowed me to see the different interpretations of marketing strategy and other courses in overseas classes. Applying theory to practice and promoting the marketization of business research has also brought great inspiration to my own MBA study.
Through deep linking and communicating with local entrepreneurs in Boston, I learned about the focus of the current hot sectors and learned to better apply entrepreneurial thinking to my daily work and lifeThe "Marketing Innovation" course taught me how to grasp the user's concerns from the perspective of product marketization and macro data analysis, so as to integrate real-world operation resourcesHuman resources are the basic elements that entrepreneurs must reach, and understanding the role of people in different organizational states and maximizing their value is very helpful for my current entrepreneurship.
Yale School of Management: Experience world-class education and gain a deep understanding of leadership
Qi Yajing
Fudan MBA 2021 Chinese Class 5, Manager of China Dadi Property Insurance Co., Ltd. *** Product Publicity Public Relations Office.
Yale School of Management
Course Topic: Leadership & Strategy.
Self-improvement and future career development planning are the original intentions of my participation in the GIP overseas course. In today's competitive business environment, the importance of leadership cannot be overstated. As someone who aspires to make a difference in my career, I want to acquire excellent leadership skills and strengthen my confidence to deal with difficulties and challenges. Yale University is world-renowned for its academic excellence, and I look forward to learning from the professors' courses and interacting with students from around the world to learn about the practice of leadership for change in diverse contexts.
This GIP overseas course not only met my above needs, but also brought me an experience that far exceeded my expectations. From a knowledge acquisition perspective, I have gained a better understanding of leadership theories and am able to apply them in real-world situations. This trip to Yale was also a dialogue with myself, which made me more clear about my career interests and development directions.
What impressed me the most was during a leadership course where the professor showed us Nike's first chief sustainability officer, Hannah Jones, was tasked with driving institutional change and innovation by designing and implementing a global sustainability and labor rights strategy. This case taught me that when a company is at a juncture of change, it's not about reinventing the past, it's about designing the future.
Hannah Jones's leadership and courage to target a business in the face of uncertainty made me reflect on how I do in my daily work. Originally, I thought that leadership was about uploading, organizing, coordinating and communicatingNow I am acutely aware that it is the right strategy that points out the direction and focus of transformation, and often affects the whole body.
During this trip to Yale, I not only experienced the profound historical and cultural heritage of internationally renowned universities and the rigorous academic attitude of the professors, but also had the opportunity to travel from New Haven to New York and appreciate the charm of the Wall Street financial center.
London Business School: Switching perspectives and letting "responsibility" create "value".
Xu Kai
Fudan MBA 2021 Chinese Class 1, Director of Product Safety and Public Affairs of Casa Coffee (Shanghai)**.
London Business School (LBS).
Course Theme: Sustainable Finance, Seizing ESG Opportunities.
The UK is an old capitalist power, and its capital market risk management and control capabilities are relatively more mature. Having the opportunity to study at London Business School, one of the top five business schools in the world, gave me a more global perspective on the impact of ESG on long-term value creation, why ESG evaluation systems have become a standard for measuring corporate prospects, and the investment guidelines that investors follow.
The biggest takeaway from this overseas course is that I have a new understanding of ESG investment: traditional investors focus on financial logic, short- and medium-term risks and returns, but often ignore the impact on their own governance, environmental protection and social responsibility. Now I realize that "sustainability" is not just a narrow concept, but can also be broad, multifaceted, and multi-perspective. I followed the professors to switch from the public perspective to the corporate perspective, and then from the capital market to the NGO or ** perspective, and conducted a comprehensive and thorough discussion and analysis of this topic with the students.
I was impressed by the "Responsible Business Investing" class taught by star professor Alex Edmans. In his view, truly effective ESG investing should focus more on long-term returns, but the way of return is not limited to cash flow, but also includes ** assets. In other words, "responsibility" can create "value".
In addition, Professor Karen Wilson expounds the theory of influence to the fullest. From the most theoretically based and scientific ESG assessment framework I've heard so far, I feel the importance of impact in the day-to-day work of companies.
In addition, I have benefited a lot from the academic atmosphere of diversity, openness, equality and interaction in the classroom. Rather than instilling knowledge, professors encourage students to ask questions to inspire and be creative. Theory is not just talk on paper, but has strong practicality and practicality.
ESADE Business School: ESG is the only way to grow your business
Liu Jing
Fudan MBA 2021 Chinese Class 8, Align (Shanghai) Business *** Marketing Manager.
ESADE Business School
Course Topics: Business Sustainability, Innovation in the Context of ESG Practices.
I have benefited a lot from my trip to ESADE Business School, and I have seen many things in my professors and classmates that I did not have. They motivate me to keep striving and improving. Brainstorming and sparks of thought made me "painful and happy" - on the one hand, I was full of pressure, and on the other hand, I was excited by the exposure to new knowledge.
The "ESG strategy" and "sustainable conception" that the course focuses on are hot topics at the moment. Whether from the perspective of corporate image or social responsibility, ESG is the only way for enterprise development. This is very enlightening for me as a working person in the medical device industry.
In the "Concept of Sustainability" class, I was very touched by the professor's introduction to the "Sustainability" system. I was inspired by the new concept, the logic from big to small, and the 17 "Sustainable Development Linkages" of the United Nations. Not only that, Professor Alfred was very kind and friendly, he accompanied the students from Madrid to the port of A Coruña in northwestern Spain, taking care of us all along the way, so that everyone could feel the warmth even in a foreign country.
From the perspective of my own work, the GIP overseas course has opened up my thinking pattern and greatly expanded the depth and breadth of my thinking. Based on the learning gains, I was highly professional in introducing the planning plan and long-term significance of corporate social responsibility to the company's management, which also won the recognition of my colleagues. In addition, I also developed a good habit of reading every day, no matter how late I worked overtime and the latter went on a business trip, I would find time to recharge, and the trip to Spain made me more actionable.
