A few days ago, we learned from relevant channels that FAW Toyota recently filed a recall plan with the State Administration for Market Regulation, and the recall will be carried out for some BZ3 models, a total of 25,815 vehicles.
According to the official announcement, this recall will be for some BZ3 electric vehicles manufactured between March 13, 2023 and November 9, 2023. The specific reason for the recall is that the vehicle has a problem with the power battery management controller program, resulting in the vehicle being not fully charged for many times and continuing to drive at high speed, the remaining power estimate deviation is too large, and the remaining power of the power battery displayed by the instrument is higher than the actual remaining power. In extreme cases, the vehicle loses power before the charging warning light comes on, which is a major safety hazard.
For software bugs related to the power battery management controller program, FAW Toyota will upgrade the control program of the battery management controller for the vehicles within the recall scope free of charge through OTA upgrade to eliminate potential safety hazards. Therefore, if your model is within the call, please pay more attention to the system upgrade reminder in the car.
The BZ3 is a medium-sized pure electric sedan launched by FAW Toyota in April this year, with an official guide price of 1698-19.980,000 yuan. It is worth mentioning that the car was recalled in July this year due to the shape and material design of the rear door outer handle fork, and a total of 12,205 units were involved at that time.
Editor's comment: Car companies recall and make up for defects in a timely manner after discovering product problems, which is a responsible performance for car owners, and there is nothing wrong with it. However, for consumers who hold on to purchase, frequent recalls will inevitably affect the impression of this car in the minds of consumers, and may affect the sales of future vehicles.
