In the current energy and technology fields, silicon-based anode, as an emerging battery material, is gradually attracting the attention and pursuit of the industry. Recently, leading consumer battery companies and power battery manufacturers have become increasingly demanding for silicon-based anodes, mainly due to the excellent performance of silicon-based anodes in improving battery energy density and fast charging performance. In this context, as one of the few enterprises with porous carbon mass production capacity in China, Yuanli Co., Ltd.'s layout and product research and development in the field of silicon-based anode are worthy of market attention.
First of all, why do we need to focus on silicon-based anodes at the current node?There are two main core reasons. First, the demand side has changed, and leading mobile phone manufacturers such as Huawei, Honor, and vivo have expressed their urgent demand for silicon-based anodes. At the same time, power battery manufacturers have also accelerated the application of silicon-based anodes in power batteries, which indicates that silicon-based anodes will occupy an important position in the future battery market. The second is a breakthrough on the supply side, the United States group14 and domestic carbon one and other enterprises have made technological breakthroughs at the level of silicon-based anode products, which has promoted the maturity and large-scale application of silicon-based anode products.
So, how to view the choice and development direction of silicon-based technology?In the medium term, the silicon carbon path is generally bullish. The silicon-carbon anode has greater potential to improve energy density, while overcoming the first-effect problem of silicon-oxygen anode. From the perspective of the expansion option of the anode plant and the technical route of the power battery factory, this judgment has been verified. For example, the anode leader Putailai chose to expand the production of silicon carbon anode, while EVE Lithium Energy & BAK Battery said that its large cylinder will use a silicon carbon anode system.
In the silicon carbon system, the new generation of CVD technology is expected to occupy the mainstream. The silicon carbon anode produced by the traditional grinding method has the problems of large size of silicon particles and difficult to solve the problem of expansion. The CVD method can significantly reduce the expansion rate and improve the cycling performance by depositing silicon nanoparticles on the surface of the carbon matrix to form composites, which has better consistency and lower material ash content. With the continuous advancement of technology and the realization of large-scale cost reduction, the CVD method is expected to be applied in large quantities in the future.
Yuanli has a leading position in the field of porous carbon. With the accumulation of hard carbon materials and supercapacitor carbon process technology, Yuanli is able to produce high-quality porous carbon materials. This advantage enables Yuanli to cooperate with CATL and other battery manufacturers to develop a new generation of battery technology, which is expected to achieve product designation in the first half of 2024 and mass market in 2025.
Based on the performance elasticity calculation, it is assumed that there will be 15TWh lithium battery shipment, of which the penetration rate of silicon-based anode is 10%;Each GWh battery corresponds to 1,200 tons of anode, of which the mass of porous carbon accounts for more than 5%;The market share of Yuanli shares is 50%;The net profit per ton of porous carbon is 40,000 yuan. Then, Yuanli shares are expected to contribute 1800 million profit increment. Combined with the market value of the main business and the potential market value growth of new energy carbon materials, the short-term target market value of Yuanli shares is expected to reach 10 billion. Therefore, the market should continue to pay attention to and focus on recommending the important layout and future development prospects of Yuanli shares in the field of silicon-based anode.
