Kudos!Retired soldier Zou Shengkun

Mondo Social Updated on 2024-01-28

Zou Shengkun is 53 years old this year, a native of Pingle County, Guilin City, born in an ordinary peasant family, is a member of the middle school, a retired soldier, one of the top ten "good people around" in Pingle County, and a veteran of the border area. He joined the army in 1987 and was awarded a third-class meritorious service and won many military awards. After being discharged from the army in 1992, he returned to his hometown to serve as an off-campus counselor. In September 1994, with a vision of a better life, he went to Nanning to work and start a business, and achieved success in his career by relying on his own efforts and hard work.

Zou Shengkun joined the party in 1992 and is a "veteran party member" with 31 years of party experience. He has won numerous awards in his life, with large and small medals and honorary certificates filling the entire bookshelves. He never hesitates to lend a helping hand to those in need around him in his daily life, and when he talks about Zou Shengkun, his neighbors and colleagues all give him a thumbs up.

On November 17, Zou Shengkun had a sudden cerebral hemorrhage, and after the medical staff tried their best to rescue him, he was confirmed to be brain dead on November 23. In addition to their grief, the family proposed the idea of donating organs to the Guilin Red Cross Society, so that his life could be extended in another way.

On the afternoon of November 23, under the joint witness of Zhang Ling, the organ donation coordinator of the Red Cross Society of Quanzhou County, and Tan Qun, the coordinator of the Affiliated Hospital of Guilin Medical College, in accordance with the relevant management regulations on human organ donation, the family solemnly signed the "Confirmation Registration Form for Human Organ Donation Relatives" and related agreements.

Before the operation began, Zou Shengkun's wife, Chen Maoxian, said goodbye to him with his two sons, and said to the children earnestly: "Your father is a good man, he always thinks about others, even at the end of his life, he is still willing to help others, he is a good father to you, and a good example for you."

Zou Shengkun's wife, Chen Maoxian, said: "On Thanksgiving, helping him make the decision to donate his organs is to make his last contribution to society at the last moment of his life, which must also be his expectation."

After strict examination and evaluation by experts to meet the donation criteria, on the afternoon of November 24, organ procurement surgery was performed in the Affiliated Hospital of Guilin Medical College. Zou Shengkun's donation of a liver, a kidney and a pair of corneas will bring hope of "rebirth" to the four patients. He is gone, and he practices the purpose of the Communist Party in the most noble way: to serve the people wholeheartedly.

Flowers bloom towards the sun. Warm and born.

Hats off to the donors!

Thank you to the organ donors and their families.

A great act of selfless devotion!
