Jiaoweiqin: The name of the paulownia wood is Jiaowei, and his fate was eventually tired of fame, and he became a troublemaker in the court.
During the reign of Emperor Ling of the Han Dynasty, Cai Yong of Chenliujun wrote many times to advise the emperor, disobeying the emperor's will, and was regarded as a thorn in the side of the eunuchs in the palace. Cai Yong had a premonition that he would sooner or later be liquidated by the imperial court, so he decisively left the court, died in the rivers and lakes, and went to the Wuhui area to live in seclusion. After Cai Yong arrived in Wudi, he once went out and happened to meet a local of Wuhui who was cooking with paulownia wood. Cai Yong listened to the crackling sound of the burning paulownia wood, which was different from the ordinary, and muttered secretly: "This is really a good piece of wood suitable for making a piano."
So Cai Yong hurriedly took the burning paulownia wood out of the flames and extinguished it, and asked the people of Wu to sell it to him. Although Wu Diren was disturbed by Cai Yong to cook, he saw that there was money to be made, so he agreed to Cai Yong's request. Cai Yong made this piece of paulownia wood into a piano, tried the sound, and sure enough, he could play a beautiful timbre. The fly in the ointment is that there are burnt marks on the tail of the piano. It is precisely because of this characteristic that Cai Yong named this piano "Jiaowei Qin".
Passers-by said: Whether it is a person or a thing, the ancients in China liked to crown the numbers "four big", "eight big", "ten ten" and so on, and Jiaoweiqin is also in this list. According to records, there are four famous pianos in ancient China, in addition to Cai Yong's Jiaowei qin, there are also Qi Huangong's "Horn Bell", Chu Zhuang Wang's "Winding Liang", and Sima Xiangru's "Luqi". Four famous pianos, two in the Spring and Autumn Period, and two in the Han Dynasty. Because of Cai Yong's own unfortunate fate, it invisibly added a touch of tragedy to Jiao Weiqin.
Cai Yong was a famous literary scholar in the late Eastern Han Dynasty. During the period of Emperor Ling of the Han Dynasty, the eunuchs were in power, and Cai Yong offended the eunuchs because of his blunt words, so he went to the land of Sanwu to avoid trouble. This is the background story of Cai Yong's discovery of Jiaoweiqin. The story after Cai Yong's rescue of the piano should be known to those who are familiar with the history of the Three Kingdoms. After Zhang Jiao led the Wudoumi sect to launch the Yellow Turban Uprising, the imperial court lifted the party in order to quell the rebellion, and Cai Yong was able to return to the center of Luoyang.
After Emperor Ling of the Han Dynasty died of illness, the general He Ban, under the instigation of Yuan Shao, summoned Dong Zhuo to Beijing and exterminated the Ten Standing Attendants. He Ban was not secret, and was killed by the Ten Standing Servants. Yuan Shao and others led the forbidden army of the Han Dynasty into the inner palace, and the eunuchs led by the ten permanent servants were merged, and Luoyang was in chaos. Dong Zhuo led the army into Luoyang at this time, and soon after, he abolished the young emperor, established the emperor, proclaimed himself the emperor, and monopolized the power of the court. Cai Yong was given preferential treatment by Dong Zhuo because of his talent. After Wang Yunqiao used a serial plan to kill Dong Zhuo, he made a big deal, and Cai Yong was sentenced to death, and the tragic fate was doomed. At that time, many people felt wronged for Cai Yong.
After Cai Yong's death, the court went through several turmoil, and his daughter Cai Wenji also fell to the Xiongnu, and was later redeemed by Cao Cao. In the troubled fate of Cai Yong's father and daughter, Jiao Weiqin must be by his side.
