Li Pinghua. One day in March 1941, after attacking a Japanese military vehicle at Tangqiao, the Kuomintang local guerrillas in the Taolin area immediately retreated in the direction of Hengpu Yueshan and Pingtou. The enemy is annoyed and angry. The next day, more than 30 Japanese soldiers, led by the Japanese squad leader, rushed to Yueshan Village in a vigorous manner, grabbed many people, and pressed the guerrillas about their whereabouts. Very few of the local people knew where the guerrillas were going, and some of them had already taken refuge. When they saw a group of peasants carrying firewood and demanded that they were guerrillas fighting in military vehicles, they rushed forward and killed them one by one with bayonets, pitiful eight innocent peasants lying in pools of blood.
The red-eyed Japanese devils still did not give up, and rushed towards Shishan again, and on the way they caught two first-class commanders -- Li Hancheng and Li Tongren -- in Xiangjiawan. When they were asked about the whereabouts of the guerrillas, but no result was obtained, more than 30 Japanese soldiers with bayonets searched the three houses in Xiangjiawan, and the squad leader angrily ordered all the young and middle-aged men to be arrested and knelt down in front of my house in Baihezui, and then tied up Li Tongren and hung him from a plum tree, pointed a bayonet at him, pointed to the 30 or so villagers kneeling in the field, and asked: "Who are the guerrillas?"Say!Li Tongren gritted his teeth, held back the pain, and said angrily: "No!."No, huh!Your lie, dead dead!Li Tongren turned his head and did not answer. Seeing this, Li Tongren hurriedly raised his head and pleaded bitterly: "There really isn't!"The Japanese squad leader roared, pulled out his pistol, and slammed at Li Tongren, and the bullet passed through his small belly.
After the Japanese army killed Li Tongren, they left. As soon as the kneeling peasants stood up and prepared to clean up Li Tongren's body, the Japanese soldiers returned, grabbed my father, Li Guoru, and asked: "What kind of house did he (referring to Li Tongren) have?"My father was silent, and the captain of the Japanese squad pointed to my house and asked, "Is this the building?""When my father was still silent, the Japanese squad leader ordered his men to pile up dry wood around my house and light a fire. In a short time, my house was drowned in flames. The wolves laughed and left, and when the people present saw that the Japanese troops had gone, they hurriedly stepped forward to put out the fire. The young Li Ping'an was desperately trying to put out the fire, but he did not see the returning Japanese troops, and he was unable to dodge, and was shot through the lip by a Japanese soldier, and the people had no choice but to stop. The Japanese army then walked away triumphantly. By this time, the flames had engulfed the entire house, and from time to time there was a sound of wooden purlins breaking. In less than two hours, the house that our family had built with their sweatcamp was left with a few broken walls and ashes.
