China has such an intangible cultural heritage, which originated in a primitive society, but it was not until modern times that it was able to spread.

Ashima is less well-known than other art forms, not because it is flawed, but because for a long time, Ashima has been sung in the form of Yi language, which has become a unique cultural treasure in Shilin Yi Autonomous County of Yunnan Province and has been passed down for thousands of years.

Ashima is a folk legend circulating in Shilin Yi Autonomous County, Yunnan Province, which tells the poignant story of a Sani girl in the form of a song.

Unwilling to submit to the powerful, the girl was forced to separate from her lover and transform into a cliff by the river, continuing to sing songs of indomitability and freedom as an echo god.

As a representative of wisdom and courage, Ashima vividly shows the perseverance of the Yi Sani people and their yearning for light.

According to scholars' research, Ashima can be traced back to the primitive era of slash-and-burn farming, and later developed through the feudal society, becoming a folk song passed down by word of mouth among the Sani people.

In the beginning, the inheritance of "Ashima" relied on word of mouth, and the values contained in the song were sung in the form of songs, and it was not until modern times that "Ashima" had written and modern media channels.

As a narrative poem, Ashima is full of a lot of foreshadowing, exaggeration, and irony, as well as rhetorical devices such as metaphor and thimble, which are highly active in form and strongly perform the ups and downs in Ashima.

If it is expressed in the form of singing lyrics, it adopts the forms of joy, sadness, crying, scolding, etc., and the communication method is flexible and changeable, suitable for sacrifices, marriages, daily life and other occasions.

At present, there are two main systems of Ashima in the world, namely folk tune and Bimo tune.

Bimo is the sacrifice of the Yi people, so the Bimo genre is more rigorous and solemn than the folk tune, and the folk tune is more free and casual, not limited to the environment, and can also be easily sung when working.

Since the 50s of the 20th century, Ashima has been translated into many languages, including Chinese, and has been released in different versions in many countries.

Among the more representative deeds include that in 1953, the Yunnan Military Region Troupe adapted "Ashima" into a script for the first time and put it on the stage, and then it was released as China's first color widescreen screen ** feature film, and later won awards in Japan and Spain and other countries, which shows its influence.

Since 2006, when Ashima was selected as a national intangible cultural heritage, there have been many research and singing organizations in both the folk and the government.

However, with the progress of society, more and more Yi people have left the villages to develop in big cities, and the inheritance of Ashima is also facing difficulties, and at the same time, efforts to save Ashima are also emerging.

In 2008, the Ashima Cultural Xi Center was completed, and in 2012, the training course of the Ashima Cultural Xi Center was opened, and it is believed that as long as we work together, Ashima's singing will continue to circulate in the vast south of Caiyun.
