Recently, the International Symposium on "Cultivated Land Protection and Productivity Improvement" was successfully held by the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region Science and Technology Association, the Inner Mongolia Academy of Agriculture and Animal Husbandry Sciences, the University of Western Australia, and the Inner Mongolia Agricultural and Animal Husbandry Science and Technology Innovation Alliance, and jointly organized by the Key Laboratory of Black Soil Protection and Utilization of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, the Key Laboratory of Ecological Restoration and Pollution Control of Degraded Farmland of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, the Sino-Australian Joint Laboratory of Plant Resources and Cultivation, and the Beijing Global Talent Exchange Promotion Association.
Ding Zhifeng, Secretary of the Party Branch, Executive Chairman and Secretary-General of the Association, and Director General of the China Center of the Russian Academy of Engineering, attended the meeting, which was held in a combination of online and offline methods, and set up three sub-venues offline: Inner Mongolia Academy of Agriculture and Animal Husbandry Sciences, Agricultural Research Institute of the University of Western Australia, and China Center of the Russian Academy of Engineering. More than 260 domestic academicians, well-known experts, scientific researchers, master's and doctoral students, and relevant experts from the United States, Australia, Russia and other countries attended the meeting.
The opening ceremony of the conference was presided over by Lu Zhanyuan, a researcher of the Inner Mongolia Academy of Agriculture and Animal Husbandry Sciences, Professor Zhao Ji, Chairman of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region Science and Technology Association, Yang Changchun, a second-level inspector of the Agriculture and Animal Husbandry Department of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, Professor Guijun Yan of the University of Western Australia, and Sun Guoquan, Secretary of the Inner Mongolia Academy of Agriculture and Animal Husbandry Sciences, and other leaders and experts delivered speeches respectively. Four academicians, including Zhang Jiabao from Nanjing Institute of Soil Science, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Zhu Jiaojun from Shenyang Institute of Applied Research, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Xu Minggang from Shanxi Agricultural University, and Zhang Hongcheng from Yangzhou University, four academicians of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, Lu Zhanyuan, researcher of Inner Mongolia Academy of Agriculture and Animal Husbandry Sciences, Dr. Shubina Olga Ivanovna of the Transbaikal Agricultural Institute in Russia, Associate Professor Ponomarenko and Alexander Rovna of Yezhevsky Irkutsk State Agrarian University in Russia, and Latan of The Ohio State University in the United States 12 experts and scholars, including Professor Lyle, Professor Guijun Yan of the University of Western Australia, Dr. Hui Liu of the University of Western Australia, Associate Professor Zhao Xin of China Agricultural University, and Dr. Fang Jing of Inner Mongolia University, made academic reports on black soil protection, soil health management and crop stress resistance cultivation, and jointly made new progress, new measures and new challenges in cultivated land protection and production capacity improvement in the current agricultural science and technology innovation period.
The report of this conference is rich in content and strong academic atmosphere, providing new ideas and methods for solving the problem of high-quality utilization of cultivated land protection and productivity improvement of food security, and the Beijing Global Talent Exchange Promotion Association actively promotes academic exchanges and application of achievements in China and the United States, China and Australia, China and Russia, and provides strong scientific and technological support for protecting cultivated land, improving food production capacity and promoting sustainable agricultural development.
