Meet at Zhaojun Village

Year of the Crane. The Xiangxi, which originates in Shennongjia, meanders through the front of Zhaojun Village like a jasper belt falling from the heavenly palace. For thousands of years, it has been repeating those ancient stories that are often told and often new - the Tang Dynasty Zhang Mi's "Makeup Building" believes that the name of Xiangxi is because "Zhaojun lives near the water, and he is always in the stream, and the stream is fragrant, so it is called Xiangxi". However, the folk say that the river was originally a muddy stream, and later because Zhaojun often washed his champas here, the stream became fragrant. There are also people who claim conclusively: Before leaving the Sai and kissing, Zhaojun had gone home to save her relatives, she was careless when washing her face in the stream, and dropped the pearl into the stream, since then, the water of the stream is like Dai all year round, clear to the bottom, and contains ...... fragrance

Zhaojun Village, formerly known as Baoping Village, is in the southern suburbs of Xingshan County, Hubei Province. Because the Western Han Dynasty was born with a generation of famous concubines Wang Zhaojun who had the appearance of "sinking fish and falling geese", it was renamed Zhaojun Village.

Although he has heard of the name for a long time, he has never had the opportunity to meet. It wasn't until the summer of 2004 that Xiao Wang and I were invited to this long-admired celebrity site.

Looking from afar, Zhaojun Village, which is surrounded by mountains on one side and water on three sides, is full of smoke and green, and the spirit of beauty is blowing in the face. People who are accustomed to living in the city will have a feeling of being completely relieved and refreshed.

Entering the archway, you will see the Zhaojun Mansion that was rebuilt in 1982. This is a group of imitation Han Dynasty style buildings, the stone steps in front of the house are made of bluestone, the front hall and the backyard are connected by decorative walls on both sides of the 40 meters apart, the gate gate, the carved window, elegant and simple, and have a special interest.

Gently stepped over the high wooden threshold and walked into a clean courtyard. In a tank of cool water, a few pieces of duckweed, a few small fish. On the big red lantern hanging high under the eaves, the red silk thread slowly sways in the gentle breeze, as if welcoming the arrival of visitors.

The layout of Zhaojun's house is one hall and two courtyards. The front yard is the production and living area of Zhaojun's family, which is equipped with handicraft workshops such as squeezing room, wine workshop, textile, tea making, etc., in which there are stone mills, stone mills, hats, robes, bamboo sieves, hoes, back baskets, bamboo baskets and other rural utensils, revealing a simple atmosphere from the folk everywhere, making you feel more cordial. Xiao Wang had a special interest in the stone mill and stone mill, and put forward his own beautiful idea: "If I want to have money, I will set up a leisure villa, put these old antiques into it, and let the people in the city taste the taste of the farmhouse." "We feel the same way, but we can't get rid of the dilemma of lack of money.

The backyard of Zhaojun's house is three in and five out, which is the sleeping area of Zhaojun and his family. The room is decorated with square tables, wooden chairs, cages nailed with copper locks, antique wooden carved beds and other household utensils ......It seems that the air is filled with the smell of thousands of years ago. No wonder relevant experts and scholars will say that Zhaojun Village still retains the primitive and simple living Xi and working methods of the Western Han Dynasty, which can be called a "unique" historical and cultural landscape of the Han Dynasty. But I didn't think so, and in front of everyone, I dared to say my opinion: "Before the Han Dynasty, it was not said that it was among the people, even in the palace, there were only a few cases without chairs, and people often sat on the ground. To say that furniture such as square tables are relics of the Han Dynasty is just a conjecture that is taken for granted. What's more, it has not changed for 2,000 years, what can it mean except to reflect the stagnation of civilization?”

There is an important building in the backyard called "Xuanzhao Hall", which is said to be the place where Zhaojun was selected for beauty and ordered the edict to be read. There is also a stage in the courtyard, and some performances of Chen Zhaojun's story are mostly performed here. Because we are special guests, this time we were not only fortunate to have the "Zhaojun Farewell Mother" performed by the descendants of Zhaojun, and the "Peach Blossom Dance" of Zhaojun's innocence was reproduced, but also witnessed the exclusive interview of the host of Wuhan TV Station with the heirs of Zhaojun.

There are many legends and relics about Zhaojun in Zhaojun's hometown, in addition to Zhaojun's house, the dresser, Nanmujing, embroidered shoe cave, Pipa Bridge and other old ruins, all of which arouse people's associations and thoughts about her.

The Nanmu well in the east of the house is said to be the water draw place dug by Zhaojun and the villagers in those years, and there is a thousand-year-old Nanmu embedded in the well for stepping on the feet to get water, so it is named. The current Nanmu well has been rebuilt in recent years, and the well body is all paved with bluestone blocks. The water of this well is sweet and delicious, and there are four seasons, warm in winter and cool in summer.

The Moon Tower and dresser in front of Zhaojun's house have also been renovated. The dresser is the place where Zhaojun climbed the tower to look at the moon when he was a child, and legend has it that Wang Zhaojun combed his hair and makeup here, and when he played the piano and sang, he often flew all kinds of birds to accompany her. There are stone tables and stone benches in the pavilion, which is a good place for tourists to take a break or stroll around and watch the scenery. In the meantime, imagine the scene when Zhaojun climbed the tower to look at the moon, groomed in the mirror, and silently chanted Du Fu's poem "Ring the Sky and Return to the Moonlight Night Soul", which makes people feel a little emotional.

The three-cooked land next to the dresser is a treasure of feng shui. Legend has it that after Zhaojun arrived in the Xiongnu, he entrusted people to bring the Huns' millet back to his hometown, and since then, Baoping can harvest one season of wheat and two crops of millet every year. In addition to the celebration, the villagers sang in the gongs and drums they composed: "Baoping is really rich, there are three ripe crops a year, the fragrant stream water you drink, and the blessings of Zhaojun." ”

The viewing corridor on the side of the dresser was built in 1991, with a total length of 310 meters, and the columns, beams, and railings are decorated with Han Dynasty patterns, with smooth lines, simple and elegant. Walking along the promenade, there is really a charm of "the long stream is like a jade belt, and the breeze slowly enters the arms". Looking at the Xiangxi River lying in the distance, the delicate and beautiful pipa bridge, one by one steel cables, just like the strings on the Zhaojun pipa, slowly plucked the historical movement under the blue sky and white clouds.

On the left side of the house is the Shojun Memorial Hall. The memorial hall is a village layout, with a front and back yard, which is scattered. In front of the door, there are white marble stone carvings such as picking oranges, drawing water, embroidery, painting, fluttering butterflies, and raccoon yarn, which are very elegant.

Walking up the bluestone steps, you can see black patterns and ornaments painted on the white gables, which are simple and solemn. The couplets on the vermilion column in front of the door, such as "a stream of jade liquid fragrant rivers and seas, a hundred generations of Ming concubines shine ancient and modern";"Xiangxi is even the same as the north and south of Heishui, and there are all monuments to Zhaojun and the country's morale", etc., giving people a heavy cultural taste.

In the middle of the courtyard is the high8 meters of white marble king Zhaojun statue. She crossed her arms in front of her chest, standing slim between the green and green, staring at the contemplative demeanor, and the elegant charm of the Luo skirt, which also painted an ancient stunning woman vividly. Her affectionate eyes stared into the distance, as if she was silently telling her feelings of longing for her hometown and fellow villagers. This white marble statue was carved in 1986 by Hohhot using high-quality white marble from Fangshan, Beijing. In order to show prudence, the village planned to hold a grand statue ceremony, but the first few days of the statue had been rainy. But unexpectedly, 10 minutes before the statue ceremony, the wind and rain stopped, the bright sunshine sprinkled all over the village, and even the Xiangxi River in front of the door reflected the golden light. So the villagers rushed to tell each other: Our Zhaojun girl is back, she has traveled through thousands of years of time, and finally returned to her hometown!

The lobby behind the statue is the Zhaojun historical materials exhibition room, and the door forehead is engraved with the four big characters of "Qianqiu Hangze". The exhibition in the museum is divided into five parts: "Xiangxi Pregnancy Show", "Farewell to the Palace", "Han Palace", "Please Walk and Kiss", and "Outside the Palace".

There is a small gate in the north of the courtyard leading to the "Zhaojun Academy", which is the place where Wang Zhaojun wrote poems in those years. There is a white marble statue of Zhaojun playing the pipa in the courtyard. She stared intently and stroked the strings, as if she was plucking the infinite lovesickness of looking at her homeland and the vast mountains of Guanshan, expressing the eternal dream of returning to her hometown through thousands of years.

I don't feel a little stunned, the huge Han Dynasty actually relied on a weak woman to heal the wounds of the nation, is this the luck of the times, or the sorrow of history?
