He has long been engaged in talent training, scientific research, design practice and cross-exploration in the fields of architecture and urban renewal, livable environment for the elderly and architectural human factors engineering. He is currently a director of the Architect Branch of the Architectural Society of China, a director of the Urban Design Branch and the Barrier-free Design Branch, an academic member of the Age-Appropriate Building Branch, a member of the Architectural Design Standardization Technical Committee of the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development, a vice chairman of the Standardization Committee of the Chinese Society of Gerontology and Geriatrics, an expert in the evaluation of affordable housing of the Beijing Municipal Commission of Housing and Urban-Rural Development, a community responsibility planner in Beijing, and a national first-class registered architect. In recent years, he has published more than 100 academic monographs in this field, undertaken national, provincial and ministerial scientific research projects, compiled standards at all levels, published academic standards, presided over design practice, and participated in domestic and foreign exhibitions.

Education

From 1992 to 1997, he received a doctorate in engineering and a master's degree in architecture from the School of Architecture, Tsinghua University.

From 1987 to 1992, he received a bachelor's degree in architecture, School of Architecture, Tsinghua University.

Professional resume

Since 1997, he has been teaching at the School of Architecture of Tsinghua University and serving as the national first-class registered architect of the Architectural Design and Research Institute of Tsinghua University.

From 2001 to 2002, he was selected for the "150 Chinese Architects in France" project of the French ** Program, and went to Versailles School of Architecture in France as a visiting scholar.

He has served as Dean of the Department of Architecture, School of Architecture, Tsinghua University (2020-present), Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Architecture (2010-2020), Assistant to the Dean (2007-2009), Director of the Teaching Office of the School of Architecture (2005-2009), and member of the Teaching Committee of the School of Architecture (2013-present).
