Folktale Rats Attack

Mondo Culture Updated on 2024-01-31

This happened many years ago, when my classmate's parents went to visit relatives in another village during the summer vacation, and a group of us children came to his house to play.

While we were playing hide and seek in the yard, a child got into the house where the grain was kept, and found a small mouse next to the grain tank.

The little mouse was slow to move, and was forced into a corner by the child, so frightened that the little mouse did not dare to move.

The child was surprised and delighted, and cried out:

"Come on, come and see, I've caught a little mouse!".”

As soon as these words came out, a group of children ran over, and everyone huddled together, staring at the little mouse.

But when he saw the little mouse clinging to the corner of the wall, he trembled with fright, and he didn't know how to escape.

The crowd was glad to see it, and shouted and screamed, and some people lifted up their feet and tried to trample it to death.

Someone was soft-hearted and hurriedly stopped:

"Its mother is still waiting for it at home, if you step on it to death, its mother will not die of sadness?"”

Someone was hard-hearted and said:

"Rats steal food and should be trampled to death!”

Someone said, "It's disgusting and bloody everywhere, let's hang it up and starve it to death!"”

When everyone heard this, they agreed.

Immediately someone grabbed the little mouse, found a rope, tied it, and hung it on a tree in the courtyard.

The little mouse struggled at the lower end of the rope for a while, then fell silent again.

After looking at it for a while, they felt that it was meaningless, so they went to play with the house together, and left the little mouse alone in the tree.

We were fighting and making fun in the house, and we were getting carried away when we heard someone shouting

Song: "Mouse!Come in rats!Look!”

Before the words were spoken, everyone looked towards the door of the house, but saw rats crawling towards the house over the threshold.

The crowd was frightened, but when they saw rats on the floor of the house, they were so frightened that they hurriedly crawled to the heights.

Someone climbed onto the kang, someone climbed on a chair, someone stood on a table.

We all screamed and huddled in fright, and we couldn't stop shivering.

Someone was calmer and shouted at everyone:

"It must have been because we hung the little rats up and angered the rats, and they came to us for revenge!”

Everyone stared at the rats scurrying on the ground, and someone proposed:

"Let's break in, it's better than waiting here to die, you see, there are more and more rats!”

And there were those who were afraid, and when they heard it, they said with a crying voice

"What if you trample them to death? What can I do if my shoes are full of blood?”

Someone cried:

"What if I get bitten by them?”

The eyes of the people scrutinized back and forth on the ground, and their mouths were talking and arguing endlessly.

At this moment, I suddenly heard the curse of an old man from the courtyard:

"Which little rabbit hung the little mouse from the tree, I let it go!”

As soon as these words came out, everyone was stunned and did not say a word.

In the middle of the night, the old man's footsteps slowly faded away, and he seemed to have released the little mouse.

At the same time, the rats in the house suddenly rushed out of the door and quickly disappeared.

We were amazed and delighted, and we came down from the heights and rushed into the courtyard together.

When I stepped into the courtyard, I saw that the little mouse hanging from the tree was gone, and only a rope swayed in the wind under the tree.

Everyone was taken aback and said:

"It's strange that we just beat the little rats, and we were surrounded by them, it's so dangerous!”

Everyone nodded their heads again and again, each relieved, and played happily again.

Later, when we mentioned the events of that day, we still had lingering palpitations, and we all felt that they were worthy of the legendary gray fairies, and it seemed that they were really very spiritual, and they were not easy to mess with.
