At the end of the 70s of the last century, a fierce battle took place in the Sino-Vietnamese border area, and our army gathered hundreds of thousands of troops to carry out self-defense counterattack operations against the Vietnamese army, annihilating the Vietnamese army of more than 40,000 people, and capturing most of the northern areas of Vietnam, dealing a heavy blow to the Vietnamese army.
However, the Vietnamese army was still unwilling to lose, and on April 28, 1984, our army officially launched the campaign to recover Lao Son. In this battle, our army annihilated more than 30,000 enemies at the cost of 4,603 people, and finally won the victory. However, during the battle, 6 soldiers of our army were captured by the Vietnamese army, including a company deputy instructor named Wang Bin.
Wang Bin, after the outbreak of the self-defense counterattack against Vietnam, followed the troops into Vietnam, performed heroically in the battle, and was finally promoted to the deputy instructor of the 1st Battalion and 2nd Company. However, in the battle to recover Laoshan, Wang Bin's 2nd Company was ambushed by the Vietnamese army, which was very heavy. At the critical moment, Wang Bin stepped forward, commanded the soldiers to evade artillery fire, and successfully broke out of the siege of the Vietnamese army.
However, in order to retrieve the remains of his comrades, he rushed into the battlefield again and was eventually captured by the Vietnamese army. During his five years in captivity, Wang Bin was brutally tortured by the Vietnamese army, but his will was never broken. It was not until 1990 that the Sino-Vietnamese border conflict eased, and Wang Bin and his comrades-in-arms finally returned to their homeland safely. However, after five years of captivity, Wang Bin suffered from a variety of diseases.
After examination, Wang Bin was reinstated to his military status, party membership and cadre positions, and was awarded the rank of captain. Eventually, he left the army, returned to his hometown, and entered the work under the arrangement of the local **. Wang Bin's story shows perseverance and loyalty to the country, and his experience is deeply admired and moved.
