A few days ago, the second member congress of the Wisdom Medical Care Branch of the Chinese Society of Gerontology and Geriatrics and the Forum on the Construction of a Smart Age-friendly Society were held in Beijing, at which Zuo Meiyun, deputy dean of the School of Information of Chinese Renmin University, released the "Report on the Status of Social Participation of the Elderly in the Digital Intelligence Era" (hereinafter referred to as the "Report").

The report is jointly produced by the Institute of Smart Elderly Care of Chinese University and China Mobile Think Tank. The report divides the social participation scenarios of the elderly into eight scenarios: "home life", "cultural and sports activities", "transportation", "health support", "daily consumption", "service services", "elderly activities" and "human environment". Among them, "health support" is the cornerstone of the active participation of the elderly in society.

The report proposes that the current policies and transformation activities related to "health support" for the elderly are mostly carried out around the three environments of family, community and society, and the construction and transformation of smart technology in the family environment is to allow the elderly to enjoy automatic monitoring and corresponding services in an almost "unconscious" situationThe convenience brought by smart technology in the community environment is to reduce the difficulty of the elderly to participate in the society in their own familiar social environment, and to ensure the health and safety of the elderlyIn the social environment, smart technology can realize the process of medical insurance settlement and remote consultation of family doctors, reduce the difficulty of the elderly to actively seek health support services, and help the elderly actively participate in all aspects of social health support services.

At the meeting, China Mobile Think Tank also released the "Big Data Insight Report on China's Silver Group". The report pointed out that with the increasing popularity of information services and the active promotion of the construction of suitable for the elderly, China's silver-haired group aged 50 and above has initially crossed the basic use threshold, and the average daily time spent online has increased by as much as 60% compared with 2020. The use of apps such as map navigation, short**, information, and integrated shopping has increased significantly. In the future, strengthening the support of traditional service touchpoints and improving the ability of digital travel and digital medical treatment are important directions for the elderly over 65 years old to support and supplement.
