"Rumble, ride to Haifeng. On the evening of December 16th, as the last note of the creative girl "Sea Tail" fell softly, the special session of "My City and My Song" - the new era of Chinese urban folk songs "Tide of the Four Seas" came to an end.
As one of the most dynamic cities in China, Shenzhen is seeking more opportunities in marine science and technology, marine culture, marine tourism and other aspects, and accelerating the construction of a global marine center city. That night, the "Tide of the Four Seas" special session will integrate Shenzhen marine culture and Chaoshan culture again, and specially invited 21 urban folk singers such as Shantou Chenghai, Shantou Nanao Island, Shanwei Lufeng and so on to gather on this stage, among which many singers have grown and developed in Shenzhen and gone to the whole country. With folk songs as a link, they jointly interpret the folk customs and ancient songs of Chaoshan area and Hailufeng Town, explore the Lingnan charm behind the mountains, rivers, lakes and seas, and set off the sound of the tide of the four seas.
Known as the "famous state of Linghai and Zou Lu on the seashore", the Chaoshan area is the birthplace of Chaoshan culture, and this performance specially invites two groups of original folk singers from the Chaoshan area, who sing both the land and the sea, and sing the most beautiful epitome of Chaoshan folk songs from different angles.
"Toy Captain" from Nanao Island, Shantou started the journey of marine folk songs with a light song "Dance Party by the Sea", singing the story between Nanao islanders and the sea. "Toy Captain" pays attention to the introduction of Chaoshan Nanao Island's unique colloquialisms into the song, giving it a new modern form of expression.
In order to help the Shenzhen Premiere Center of Chinese Urban Folk Songs, an important part of "My City and My Song", "Toy Captain" officially debuted on the platform and sang the single "Hide and Find". The song sings about the fact that we can't find our childhood friends when we grow up, and whether we cover each other's eyes because of the years, etc., conveying that we should treat everyone we meet sincerely at the moment, cherish the bits and pieces together, and firmly believe that tomorrow will be better.
Founded in Shenzhen in 2013, the band from Chenghai, Shantou not only compiles Chaoshan ballads, but also draws nourishment from local traditional tunes, and the lyrics are closely related to the details of life, giving the audience unlimited imagination.
"Haiwei" from Shanwei Lufeng is a new generation of singer-songwriters, who is very recognizable among young singers because of his clean and sweet voice and unique dialect narrative style. Born in a seaside town, "Sea Tail" has a special affection for imagery such as dusk, stars, and fishing nets. "Sea Tail" captures fragments of nursery rhymes hummed as children, writes them into lyrics, turns them into poems, and composes songs. The beauty, romance and small town stories of the ocean slowly emerged and took shape through her humming.
