As a key control project of the whole line, the Dongxi River Bridge has a total length of 506 meters, and the main bridge is designed as a 330-meter-diameter top-bearing concrete-filled steel tube arch bridge. "The bridge deck is 289 meters above ground vertically, which is equivalent to the height of a 100-story building. ”Zheng Zongjun, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of China Railway Chang'an Heavy Industry Company, introduced that the bridge spans the Dongxi River, the bridge site is selected at the bend of the Dongxi River, the narrowest part of the river, the "V" shaped canyon valley is more than 600 meters deep, the two banks are nearly vertical steep slopes and steep cliffs, the steepest part of the cliff reaches 70 degrees, and the construction height and difficulty have created the most of the same type of bridges in southwest China.
Due to the high and steep mountain, the company proposed the project of "Research on Innovative Technology for the Manufacturing and Installation of Extra-large Span Steel Pipe Arch in Deep Canyons".It has been authorized 3 national invention patents, 10 utility model patents, 1 book, and has studied a set of key technologies for the construction of steel tube arch bridges in complex regional environments, which has accumulated valuable experience for the construction of the same type of bridges in the difficult and dangerous mountainous areas of southwest China, and perfectly realized the historical innovation of building bridges and thoroughfares on steep cliffs.
Wuzhen Expressway has a total length of 4869 kilometers, the whole line through the Daba mountainous area, the ratio of bridges and tunnels reached 906%, which is currently the expressway with the highest bridge-tunnel ratio in Chongqing. As the first expressway directly connected between Chongqing and Shaanxi, after the project is completed and opened to traffic, it will open up the barrier between Shaanxi and Chongqing, and the driving time from Wuxi in Chongqing to Zhenping in Shaanxi will be shortened from the original 3 hours to 1 hour.
