A female student wrote a note to her teacher explaining why she refused to answer one of the homework questions, believing it to be one"Unpleasant"Moreover"Rude"。
Naomi, the mom of 10-year-old Rhythm, was praised for her actions after she shared her note online.
Naomi first found out about her daughter's actions when Pacheco called her to see her math homework because she said there was a problem"Wrong", so she didn't answer.
The questions raised by the little girl are as follows:"The ** on the right shows the weight of the three fourth-graders. How much does Isabel weigh more than the lightest student?"
Rhythm believes the issue offends young girls who may already be feeling insecure about their bodies.
Her mum Naomi told Fashion Today:"Rhythm circled the question in her math workbook and wrote it down'What!'。She drew an arrow pointing to the question and wrote:'I'm sorry, I won't write this, it's rude'"。
Rhythm then writes a note to the teacher explaining why she can't answer the question, saying she doesn't want to be rude, but'Judge someone else's weight'Not really'Very good practice'。
Cadance did end up solving the problem without pointing out which child was heavier, and she said she decided to write a note to the teacher because she didn't want similar problems to continue with her homework.
10-year-old Rhythm Pacheco is unimpressed by the issue.
The young girl explained:"I was nervous because I didn't write the question that would get me in trouble, but I solved it anyway. The teacher talked to me about it and made me feel that she was on my side"。
Rhythm's mom said Rhythm's math teacher at Grant Elementary School in Murray, Utah, understood exactly what she meant, and"The situation was handled with great care"。She even replied to her note, telling Rhythm not to write the answer.
Communications and Public Information Specialist, Murray City School District, DWright told Today that they were glad that Rhythm's teacher handled the situation in such a positive way and praised the teacher"Sensitive, supportive, and understanding"。
Responsible for the course project for this question"Eureka Math"said that they had never received such feedback before, and explained that they used both male and female names in the problem set.
The math teacher of Prosody fully understands the little girl's question on this issue.
However, show producer Chad Colby said they would take it seriously:"User feedback is an important part of our culture. We are very grateful for the constructive feedback from students, teachers, and parents. We apologize for any discomfort or offense caused by this issue.
Please note that we will be replacing this question in all future reprints and recommend that teachers provide an appropriate replacement question for students during this time"。
While the issue may seem trivial to some, Naomi says that she and Cadance's dad are both daughters"Stick to the right thing"And feel"Immensely proud"。
