Luwang reported on December 22On December 20, Niu Huailu, a student in Class 7 of 2021 at Zibo Science and Technology School, sent an injured national second-class protected animal, the Hill Sandpiper, to the Gaoqing County Natural Resources Bureau.

On the way to school, Niu Huailu saw an injured "long-billed strange bird" shivering in the cold wind, looking like a protected bird in a brochure. After searching, it was confirmed that it was a national second-class protected animal, and immediately asked the head teacher Zhang Juan for help, and after Mr. Zhang learned about it, he immediately contacted the natural resources department for rescue. After on-site inspection, the staff of the Gaoqing County Natural Resources Bureau found that the right wing of the hill sandpiper was damaged, and its wounds were immediately cleaned and bandaged, and then sent to the county wildlife rescue station for further examination, feeding and release, and immediately released back into the wild after it recovered its health. At the same time, the Gaoqing County Natural Resources Bureau also solemnly wrote a letter of commendation to praise Niu Huailu's loving rescue behavior.

Gaoqing County is located on a migratory bird corridor. In recent years, with the continuous improvement of the ecological environment in the county, more and more migratory birds choose to pass by Gaoqing during migration, and the hill sandpiper is one of them.

In order to protect these migratory birds, Gaoqing County, Zibo City, has also made great efforts: give full play to the working mechanism of the forest chief system, mobilize 663 grassroots forest chiefs and 346 forest rangers in the county to closely monitor and collect wildlife activities, and build the first line of defense for protectionMore than 210,000 yuan was invested to build a professional wildlife rescue station in the county to ensure that injured birds and wild animals were treated as soon as possibleGo deep into communities and schools to carry out scientific popularization of wildlife protection knowledge, so that the awareness of bird love and bird protection is in the mindWe will continue to carry out joint law enforcement inspections to form a strong deterrent momentum and resolutely curb illegal and criminal activities such as indiscriminate hunting and illegal trade ......in wild animals

Thanks to a series of protection measures implemented in the county, more and more migratory birds choose to "set up camp" in Gaoqing. Up to now, the county has a total of 121 species of terrestrial wild animals, including 2 species of national protected birds, 10 species of national protected birds, and 20 species of provincial key protected birds, becoming a veritable "bird paradise".
