The 2024 New Year's Day holiday is from December 30 to January 1, and the expressway is not free of charge.
It is estimated that the total number of passenger arrivals and departures in Guangzhou will be 33740,000 person-times, with a daily average of 11250,000 person-times, a year-on-year increase of 1154%；The number of passengers sent was 18790,000 person-times, an average of 62 per day60,000 person-times, a year-on-year increase of 954%；Passenger arrivals were 14950,000 person-times, with a daily average of 4980,000 person-times, a year-on-year increase of 1472%。
In terms of transportation out of the city, the expressway will not implement a free passage policy during the New Year's Day, and the Spring Festival is approaching, so it is expected that Guangzhou citizens will mainly travel to the surrounding short and medium-distance tourism.
The peak of going out of the city is expected to be concentrated in the day before the holiday (December 29) from 15 o'clock to 22 o'clock, and the first day of the holiday (December 30) from 9 o'clock to 13 o'clock;The peak of the return trip is expected to occur from 14:00 to 22:00 on the last day of the holiday (January 1), and the congestion level of the return to the city is expected to be slightly lower than the peak of leaving the city.
The expressway is expected to have three waves of peaks, the airport expressway, Leguang Expressway and other out-of-town peaks are easy to slow down, the South China Expressway, the North Third Ring Road and other return peaks are easy to slow down, and the high-speed service areas such as Shabei and Hengsha may have traffic backflow affecting the main line traffic.
In terms of traffic in the central urban area, as the temperature rises and the weather improves, the travel demand of citizens will be released during the New Year's Day holiday, and the overall travel heat will be high.
The traffic pressure on the roads in the city is mainly concentrated in the 1st day before the holiday (December 29), some citizens avoid the rush hour and travel in advance, it is expected that the traffic flow in the central city will increase significantly around 15:30 on the same day, and the traffic flow in the central city will continue to be in a state of "serious congestion" from 16 o'clock to 19 o'clock, the pre-holiday travel peak will be superimposed on the evening peak of Friday, and the traffic in the central city as a whole will continue to be in a state of "serious congestion".
In terms of local traffic, the traffic flow of major arterial roads in the city such as Guangzhou Avenue Central, Liede Avenue, Inner Ring Road, Dongfeng West Road, Huangpu Avenue, as well as major passages in and out of the city such as Huanshi West Road, Guangyuan Expressway, Liede Bridge, Keyun Road and South China Expressway are relatively dense.
In addition, with the official opening of Guangzhou Baiyun Station on December 26, the traffic pressure on surrounding roads such as Shicha Road, Dekang Road, Huangshi Road and Sanyuanli Avenue will increase, and passengers heading to the area need to reserve sufficient time.
Recently, there has been new progress in a number of road projects in Guangzhou, and citizens can pay attention to new roads to avoid congestion.
Among them, the northern section of Foqing Expressway (Qingyuan South to Conghua Aotou South Section) passed the delivery acceptance on December 20 and is planned to be opened to traffic in the near future.
Municipal roads such as Tangcha Road (Chashen Avenue Airport Expressway), East Railway Line (Baiyun First Line - South China Expressway), Baiyun Second Line (Chashen Avenue Tangxin Road) and other municipal roads have been opened simultaneously with Baiyun Station on December 26.
The second phase of the Guangzhou Avenue Express System Renovation - Node Reconstruction Project (South China Expressway Tonghe Exit) and the auxiliary road of the Yuncheng East Tunnel Extension Project will be completed before December 31.
The east extension of Metro Line 5 (Wenchong to Huangpu Xingang section) and the second phase of Line 7 (University Town South to Yanshan section) will be opened for initial operation on December 28.
During the New Year's Day holiday, there were 21 construction projects on the high-speed expressway, 17 projects were suspended, and 4 projects were not suspended.
In addition to sporadic maintenance of road support and road dredging at night, from December 27 to December 28, the Guangzhou Pearl River Tunnel will be repaired and replaced with ceramic hanging plates. Among them, on December 28, it is necessary to occupy the left lane of the West Hole of the Pearl River Tunnel (Huangsha to Fangcun direction), and occupy 1 km at a time, and the occupation period is from 00:00 to 06:00.
From December 27th to 29th, the construction of ceramic hanging boards and fireproof boards of Guanzhou Tunnel will occupy two lanes (sealing holes) at a time, and the occupation period will be from 22:00 to 5:00 the next day. On December 29, the M, N ramps of the Luntou Tunnel were cleared, occupying 1 lane, occupying the period from 9:30 to 16:30, occupying 500 meters at a time, and vehicles can pass slowly.
