In the TV series "Bright Sword", the "Yamamoto Special Attack Team" is depicted in a small scale, but it can always cause great damage to the Eighth Route Army. However, what is less known is that Li Yunlong also led a "mysterious special forces" - Liangshan. The unit was selected nationwide, and in the end only 108 people were successfully selected. It is worth mentioning that the leader of this force is named Duan Peng. Although it is not mentioned in the TV series, in ** "Bright Sword", Duan Peng appeared when Li Yunlong returned from his studies and served opposite Kinmen Island. Even if he didn't directly serve Li Yunlong, during the war years, Duan Peng also served under Li Yunlong, although Li Yunlong was already a division commander at that time.
Duan Peng and Li Yunlong's first official meeting stemmed from a conflict in which Duan Peng wounded Li Yunlong's good friend Ding Wei. As a recommendation for this, Ding Wei proposed Duan Peng's candidate to Li Yunlong. During the meeting, Li Yunlong was impressed by Duan Peng's ability and put forward an idea: to form a capable force to carry out a special military operation on Kinmen Island. Li Yunlong's attitude can be said to be "unscrupulous", as long as he can obtain talent, no matter what means he uses, he will win it. Duan Peng and his deputy, Secretary Zheng, visited the Chinese military and finally selected 108 members. Li Yunlong set a principle: It is better to have a shortage than an abundance, and to give priority to the overall quality of personnel, including their education level and military quality.
This principle was quite strict under the conditions of the time, because at that time it was not easy to have food, and even fewer people were able to read and write. Although the army led by Duan Peng was only 108 people, they took "Liangshan" as their code name. Despite their small numbers, many of the military's top and upper echelons initially did not think they were of any use. However, during a military Xi, the Liangshan detachment showed extraordinary combat effectiveness and successfully destroyed the "enemy's" command headquarters, which impressed everyone. What is even more remarkable is that in the 1958 Kinmen Artillery Battle, the Liangshan Detachment once again made an astonishing feat and successfully infiltrated Kinmen Island, providing accurate positioning support for our artillery.
