The IU5531E is a 48V input, 4A buck regulator with integrated high-side MOSFETs. It can withstand load dump pulses up to 50V. A low-ripple pulse-skipping mode reduces the supply current to 180 A at no load. When the enable pin is pulled low, the shutdown supply current is reduced to 4 A. The undervoltage lockout is internally set to 43V, but can be increased with the enable pin. The output voltage start ramp can be internally controlled to control the start-up process and eliminate overshoot.
The wide switching frequency range allows for optimization of efficiency or external component size. Frequency foldback and thermal shutdown protect internal and external components from damage in the event of an overload.
The IU5531E is available in a small ESOP8 package with an operating temperature range of -40 to 85.
