Among them, the Swiss Boxing Association announced its withdrawal in May this year, and has since applied to rejoin the International Boxing Federation.
The United States Boxing Federation established and applied for the International Boxing Federation after "USA Boxing" (USA Boxing) withdrew from the International Boxing Federation. The federation currently has 130 registered fighters, including 30 women, and American legend Roy Jones Jr., who has won titles across four weight classes, serves as the president.
The IOC suspended the FIB's qualification in 2019. The boxing competition at the Tokyo Olympics is run by a special team of the International Olympic Committee. In June 2022, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) decided that the International Boxing Federation would not be involved in the organization and operation of boxing competitions at the Paris Olympics. In June of this year, the IOC decided not to recognize the International Boxing Federation.
In 2023, a total of 10 associations of the International Boxing Federation announced their withdrawal, including "American Boxing" and boxing associations such as New Zealand, Argentina, and Australia.
On the same day, the General Assembly of the International Boxing Federation voted to terminate the membership of the Czech Boxing Association, the German Boxing Association and the Dutch Boxing Federation in the International Boxing Federation.
