Writing techniques of compound strokes in regular script

Mondo Culture Updated on 2024-01-31

A compound stroke is a stroke that combines two or more basic strokes. There are obvious transitions in this type of stroke, so it is important to learn how to make these strokes when learning how to make them. After learning one, we must strive to draw inferences from one case and bypass the analogy.

1) Horizontal folding: After writing the horizontal stroke, lift the pen slightly, turn to the upper right, then pause the pen to the right, and then write the vertical part to the lower left after returning the pen slightly. Ask for a more square fold, so that it appears to be strong. Be careful not to write this stroke too bently and make the stroke timid, nor to make the stroke too long and unnatural. In different glyphs, the length and angle of the horizontal and vertical parts of the horizontal fold may be different.

2) Horizontal hook: After writing the horizontal stroke, lift the pen slightly, turn to the upper right, then pause the pen to the right, and then write the hook to the lower left after returning the pen slightly. The angle between the transverse part and the hook part is about 30°, which should not be too large, so as not to loosen the glyph.

3) Horizontal skimming: After writing horizontally, lift the pen slightly, turn to the upper right, pause the pen to the right, and then write the apostrophe to the lower left after returning the pen slightly. The angles of the transverse and apostrophe, as well as their respective lengths, are different in different characters.

4) Vertical folding: After writing the vertical part, slightly lift the pen and turn to the left, then pause the pen to the right, and write the horizontal part after returning the pen slightly. In different characters, the length and angle of the vertical and horizontal parts of the vertical fold may be different.

5) Vertical lifting: After writing the vertical part, lift the pen slightly and turn to the left, then pause the pen to the right, and write the lifting part after returning to the pen slightly.

6) Vertical hook: After writing the vertical part, lift the pen and turn to the right down, then pause the pen to the left, then return the pen slightly to the right, and finally strike to the left up. The angle between the vertical part and the hook part is between 30° and 45°.

7) Vertical bending: After writing the vertical part, move the pen to the right arc, and return the pen to the left slightly. This kind of stroke is neither the vertical fold in the word "district" nor the vertical hook in the word "horse".

8) Hook: Tip into the pen, arc down the pen to the right, turn to the left in the middle, slightly to the right back to the pen and then to the left up hook. The point of writing this stroke is to let it stand on its own and not tilt it to the left or right.

9) Oblique hook: pause the pen to the right, slightly return the pen to the lower right arc to move the pen, slightly return the pen to the upper hook. Note that the oblique hook is a curve, not a straight line, but it should not be too curved, the two ends are thick and the middle is thin, and the direction of the hook is to the right up, not to the left.

10) Horizontal hook: lightly pick up the pen, arc the pen to the right down, while gradually increasing the force, then turn to the right up, slightly return the pen to the left upper hook.

In order to help readers understand the three more difficult strokes of the curved hook, oblique hook and horizontal hook, we use graphics to explain, we can understand it like this: the main part of the hook, the oblique hook and the horizontal hook (that is, the part other than the hook) are all part of the circle, where the main part of the hook is part of the right side of the circle, the oblique hook is part of the lower left side of the circle, and the horizontal hook is part of the lower right side of the circle.

11) Apostrophe: first write the first thick and then thin apostrophe, and then do not mention the pen, write the long point of the first fine and then thick. In different glyphs, the length and angle of the apostrophe and dot may be different.

12) Apostrophe: After writing the apostrophe, lift the pen slightly and turn to the left, then pause the pen to the right, and write the horizontal part after returning to the pen slightly.

13) Apostrophe: Write apostrophes first, and write them homeopathically. Both the apostrophe and the lifting are coarse first and then fine.

14) Horizontal folding hook: It is a combination of horizontal and vertical hooks. In different characters, the horizontal fold hook is written slightly differently.

15) Horizontal bending: It is a continuous writing of horizontal and vertical bending. The horizontal bend is neither the horizontal fold in the word "concave", nor the horizontal bend hook in the word "nine".

16) Horizontal folding: It is a continuous writing of horizontal and vertical lifting, and the vertical part is slightly oblique. In addition to being used in the three characters of "dove", "micro" and "decadent", this kind of stroke is mostly used in the words.

17) Vertical hook: The main point of writing this stroke is vertical and horizontal, the hook is facing up, and the turning point is curved.

18) Vertical folding and apostrophe: pause the pen to start the pen, the left down pen, the pen after the pen to write the horizontal part, and then the pen to write the apostrophe. The beginning and end of the vertical apostrophe should be vertically aligned.

19) Horizontal and oblique hook: It is a combination of horizontal and oblique hooks, requiring the horizontal part to be slightly low on the left and high on the right, the curvature of the oblique hook is not too large, and the tip of the hook is facing the right up.

20) Transverse bending hook: According to its curvature, it can be subdivided into two types. One is the horizontal bending hook in the words "several" and "nine" and the words derived from them, which is the continuous writing of horizontal and vertical hooks. The other is the word "B" and the word derived from it, which is characterized by a relatively large curvature. Readers should pay attention to distinguishing angles and curvatures when writing.

21) Horizontal fold and apostrophe: the first horizontal part is low on the left and high on the right, the first horizontal part is short and straight, the second horizontal part is high on the left and low on the right, and the second horizontal part is long and curved.

22) Horizontal bending and skimming: This kind of stroke writing is different from horizontal folding and apostrophe, and is used in the bottom of walking. The horizontal part is slightly lower on the left and high on the right, the lower part is short, the curvature is small, and the center of gravity is stable.

23) Horizontal skimming hook: the first section is the horizontal part of the left low and the right high, the second section is short skimming, the third section has a curve, and the fourth section is a hook.

24) Vertical folding hook: It is a continuous writing of vertical and horizontal folding hooks. It is required to pay attention to grasp the pause at the turning point. In different characters, the length and angle of the horizontal and vertical parts are not exactly the same, so we should pay attention to distinguish them when writing.

25) Horizontal fold fold hook: It is a contiguous writing of horizontal fold and horizontal fold hook. According to the length and angle of the stroke, it can be subdivided into two types. The first paragraph is slightly longer and lower on the left and high on the right, the second is short and straight, the third is short and flat, the fourth is long and slightly curved, and the fifth is a straight hook.

The second way of writing is flat on both sides, the upper horizontal is short, the lower horizontal is long, and the apostrophes are also slightly longer.

In addition to the above-mentioned strokes, there are also horizontal folds in the word "concave", vertical folds in the word "ding", etc., because the frequency of occurrence is not high, so I will not talk about it in detail here.

Book sage "Wang Xizhiyun:" If you lose a little place, if you are sick with a beauty, you can see it;."A painting is out of joint, like a strong man's folding. Therefore, we must carefully learn the stroke writing technique and lay a good foundation.
