On the UK's singles charts, the mighty band Wham!Christmas classic "Last Christmas" topped the charts this week for the first time since its release 39 years ago, proving once again its timeless charm. Written by the late George Michael, the song was a heartwarming moment for him and a perfect reflection of his creative talent. 
Last Christmas was first released in December 1984, and over time, it has not been forgotten, but has become a classic. Over the years, many well-known singers such as Taylor Swift, Ariana Grande and Backstreet Boys, Sammi Cheng in China and Boa Boa in South Korea have released cover versions, with Taylor Swift's cover version being particularly popular in China.
Last Christmas's enduring popularity speaks volumes about its enduring appeal. 
Wham!Co-founded in 1981 by George Michael and Andrew Ridgeley, the duo had dreamed of forming a band since their college days. Their debut song "Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go", as well as "Last Christmas" and "Careless Whisper", are still popular and sung today. 
The first European and American artist to come to Chinese mainland for a concert was the mighty band wham!, they have been hugely successful across the globe and have made history. 
However, it is deeply sad that George Michael passed away almost seven years ago on Christmas Day 2016. 
In fact, when I was travelling in the UK this summer, I visited George Michael's tombstone, which is located in a cemetery garden in north London.
I stayed in front of his tombstone for a long time, lamenting that I didn't have a chance to see him when he was alive, and it was a pity that I could sweep his grave and send flowers to him when he died. 
Si Ren is gone, but I believe that his ** and his story will always remain in our hearts.
