If you only stay at the level of planning, ideation, and thinking, no matter how good the idea is, it is just a beautiful picture, so action is especially important. The reason why many people in life are unsuccessful in their own ideas and actions is because of the two resistances to action that make many people stop. The first resistance to the action is the resistance before the action, and the second resistance is the resistance faced when the action continues.
If you want to take action on something or a goal and stick to it easily, you have to overcome these two resistances, and if you want to easily overcome these two resistances, the microhabit strategy is definitely the right way to go. The previous article shared micro-habits, which are self-management rules that are too small to fail. For example, I want to develop the habit of reading, thinking and sharing every day, so I set a goal of reading for one hour a day and sharing more than 500 words, and then I am ready to start acting, at this time I will face resistance before action, my brain will start to resist after receiving this goal, and my heart will also begin to struggle, whether to start my action, can I take the time to share 500 words a day?And so on, after all kinds of struggles, it is likely that they will stop. If you adopt a micro-habit strategy and re-formulate the micro-goal of reading or listening to a book for five minutes a day and sharing the five crosses, it immediately feels too easy to achieve, and the brain is not so repulsive, so the reading and sharing action begins, and the resistance before the action is easily taken down.
Of course, at the beginning, we may insist on reading a book for an hour a day and sharing 500 words with enthusiasm, but enthusiasm will be affected by emotions, and we may slowly feel that the passion is no longer there, the motivation is insufficient, the pressure increases, the mind struggles, and the brain resists, so there is resistance to continue to act. If we start with a micro-habit strategy and set micro-goals that are too easy to achieve, so that we read every day, without burden, happy to share, and full of sense of achievement, it will quietly become a habit over time, and then we will spontaneously increase the reading time and the number of shares, and finally we will easily and happily overcome the resistance we face when continuing to act.
