Activating the Classroom grasps seven key words such as resilience and nourishment

In the past two years, I have been doing remote public welfare class guides, guiding students in the compulsory education stage to read extracurricular must-read books, and most of the books I choose are mainly traditional cultural classics. Especially in the limited time of 40 minutes, how to effectively attract and maintain students' attention is a very challenging task.

Before class, I always carefully design the first 10 minutes of the introduction session to quickly stimulate students' interest. However, despite my constant attempts, I was unable to find the ideal method of importing, which bothered me deeply.

I strongly believe that one-way indoctrination is not the ideal way to teach, and that classroom interaction is essential to stimulate students' interest in reading. In order to achieve this, I believe that I must have a deep grasp and proficiency in various classroom interaction techniques. When I was looking for a related book, "Activating the Classroom" by Tian Junguo and Yuan Jidong caught my great attention, and I immediately realized that this book was the guide I was looking for.

Through the unique structure of "Seven Questions", the author takes seven key words: flexibility, teaching and learning, activation, socialization, development and iteration, nourishment, and expert teachers as the core, and progressively explains the core problems, the principles behind them, and the solutions. I was inspired by this structure, and I began to think about how to incorporate these ideas into my guided reading practice.

During the reading, I gained a deeper understanding of what it really means to activate the classroom. Activating the classroom is not only to motivate students, but also to guide students to actively participate, think and explore. As readers, our goal is not only to stimulate students' interest in reading, but also to develop their thinking skills and reading habits.

When I was with my students, I realized that it was difficult to keep their attention for a long time with a fun story or game. Through the revelation of "Activate the Classroom", I realized that in order to truly stimulate students' enthusiasm, we must start from the psychological needs of students and deeply understand their interests and confusions. So, I started to try to introduce more interactive parts into the guide, such as role-playing, group discussions, and sharing of ideas. These interactive ways not only increase student engagement, but also give them a deeper understanding of the book content.

After continuous practice and summarization, I have gradually formed a unique style of reading. I will flexibly use various interactive techniques according to the characteristics of different books and students, so that students can deeply understand the content of the books in a relaxed and happy atmosphere. At the same time, I am constantly reflecting on and improving my reading strategies to adapt to the changing learning needs of students.

As a guide, I am aware that I have a responsibility to nurture students. Our goal is not only to guide them to read books, but also to stimulate their thinking potential and train them to become independent thinkers. To achieve this, we must constantly learn, explore, and refine our guiding skills and strategies.

In order to stimulate children's minds, "Activate the Classroom" proposes a five-star teaching method, that is, using five ways of listening, speaking, asking, answering and evaluating to stimulate children's logical thinking, imagination, emotional power, dynamics, and meaning awareness. This approach provides us with a practical teaching strategy that helps us to better motivate our students in the teaching process.
