At present, there are 15 full-time teachers (6 senior technicians) majoring in cooking, Chinese and Western pastry, and some professional teachers have won the "National Technical Expert" and "Guangdong Technical Expert", and there are national and provincial experts in the World Skills Competition. More than 90% of professional teachers have been recognized as professional skill level assessors. The college strengthens the integration of industry and education, school-enterprise cooperation, and the college and industry associations and catering enterprises have hired 10 culinary masters from Shenzhen-funded enterprises through the modern apprenticeship system and the new apprenticeship talent training model of enterprises, of which 4 are five-star masters of "Cantonese cuisine masters" in Guangdong Province.
According to reports, the Chef College will highlight the characteristics of running a school from three aspects, one is to carry out standard research on the classic dishes of the three major local cuisines of Cantonese cuisine (Cantonese cuisine, Hakka cuisine, and Chaozhou cuisine);The second is to develop and vigorously promote new dishes with local characteristics in Zhongshan;The third is to establish a multi-level evaluation system for Cantonese chefs related to professional qualification evaluation, vocational skill level identification, special vocational ability assessment, and job requirements of industry enterprises.
It is reported that the Chef College Cooking (Chinese and Western) and Pastry (Chinese and Western) majors plan to recruit 5 classes of new students every year, about 250 people, maintaining a steady increase trend, and it is expected that by 2026, the number of students will reach 1,200, and the average annual training of social personnel will exceed 3,000 people.
