A Ugandan septuagenarian woman, Safina Namukwaya, has given birth to twins at the age of 70, causing surprise and admiration.

Both the mother and her babies are fine, although these babies are considered extremely premature. They were born at only 31 weeks and therefore had to be placed in incubators. But for this mother, her birth was called a "miracle" and brought joy.
It is to be said here that Safina Namukwaya has long been known as the "cursed woman" in her village. She was very frustrated because she had not been able to conceive. And just three years ago, when she was already 67 years old, she suddenly gave birth to her first child, a little girl.
This time, she sought professional help from the International Fertility Center at Women's Hospital. Doctors have used in vitro fertilization, which is an assisted reproductive technology. Dr Edward Tamale Sali explained to the BBC that the septuagenarian used egg donors and then fertilized them with her partner's sperm.
The septuagenarian woman eventually delivered the twins by caesarean section, even though the babies were born prematurely and had to be placed in an incubator since they were only 31 weeks old. Despite the need for extra care due to premature birth, both mother and twin are currently in good condition. This birth was very special due to things such as the age of the mother and the way the twins got pregnant.
The septuagenarian mother said her male partner had not come to see her and the twins since she was taken to the hospital. She revealed that her male partner was unhappy with the news that she was pregnant with twins, and she said that her man did not like to be told that a woman was pregnant with more than one child.
Hoping that the father would calm down as soon as possible, he decided to visit the mother who brought him two lovely babies.
