At half past eleven, while waiting for lunch, a message suddenly popped up on the mobile phone screen, saying that the famous performing artist Li Youbin had passed away.
I thought, didn't Li Youbin be a guest at Tsinghua University a few days ago and share his experience and story behind "Bright Sword" with students? Why did he die suddenly?
With a nervous mood, I quickly clicked in to see, only to find that this "Li Youbin" was not the other "Li Youbin", not the same person, but just happened to have the same name and surname!
I'm sure many people, like me, are false alarms! I thought it was Li Youbin, who played the role of Li Yunlong in the classic TV series "Bright Sword", passed away! Actually, no!
Of course, we also wish Mr. Li Youbin good health and success in his work!
The deceased Mr. Li Youbin was an actor of the Fujian Peking Opera Company, a national first-class opera director, and a famous martial arts performance artist.
Born in 1938, the year after the outbreak of the Sino-Japanese War. At the age of 12, he joined the Peking Opera Troupe of the Political Department of the 10th Corps of the Third Field Army of the Chinese People's Liberation Army with his father, as a soldier actor and performed on stage.
In 1982, he created the script of the Peking Opera film "True and False Monkey King", which was directed and filmed by Fang Ying, director of Zhujiang Film Studio. When it was released in 1983, it received a huge response at home and abroad, and the cost of overseas distribution alone was recovered.
Later, he was invited by Japan to go east to Fusang three times to participate in cultural exchange activities, and choreographed and directed "Mu Guiying's Great Breaking of the Liao Soldiers", "Wukong Bajie Fighting the Strongman", "Yang Men Female General", "Zhang Sijie Descending to Earth" and other plays, which caused a huge sensation in Japan.
After retirement, he still pays attention to the inheritance and development of opera, the growth of young actors, and other issues.
As the Fujian Peking Opera Company said:Mr. eternal, style lasts forever!
