China University of Political Science and Law is a national key university characterized by law and coordinated development of philosophy, economics, management, literature, history, art and other disciplines. The school covers an area of about 1,670 acres and is located at No. 5, Zhongguancun South Street, Haidian District, Beijing.
The predecessor of China University of Political Science and Law was the Beijing University of Political Science and Law, which was founded in 1952 and was the first law school founded in New China. In 1983, the school was renamed China University of Political Science and Law. The university has nearly 20,000 full-time students, including about 12,000 undergraduates, 7,000 graduate students, and about 1,000 international students.
The university has 12 colleges, including the School of Law, the School of Politics and Public Administration, the School of Economics, the School of International Relations, the School of Marxism, the School of Sociology, the School of Culture and Media, the School of Foreign Chinese, the School of Criminal Justice, the School of Business, the School of Intellectual Property, and the School of International Education.
China University of Political Science and Law enjoys a high reputation at home and abroad, and is an important base for legal education and research in China. The university attaches great importance to internationalization, and has established extensive exchanges and cooperative relations with more than 100 universities and research institutions in the United States, Britain, France, Germany, Japan, South Korea and other countries and regions.
