The Consulate General of the People's Republic of China in Frankfurt recently held a New Year theme activity of "Friendship and Inheritance", awarding the Special Contribution Award, the City Friendship Award and the Youth Exchange Award to nine German friends, including Thomas Rabe, grandson of Johann Rabe, who has long been committed to Sino-German friendship, Klaus Schlapner, the first foreign head coach of the Chinese men's football team, and Karl-Heinz Gas, who was awarded the title of "People's Friendship Envoy" by the Chinese Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries. The award-winning German friends said that the German-Chinese friendship has a deep foundation and looks forward to promoting more forms of German-Chinese people-to-people dialogue and exchanges, especially the continuation of people-to-people friendship among the younger generation.
