Hello everyone, I am Wang Yangxin, today I want to talk to you about the Spring Festival is not every ethnic group, I hope you can like my article, and I wish you a happy Year of the Dragon, all the best, and a happy family.
Next, I am going to officially start my article, first of all, I want to tell you what the Spring Festival is, how it was formed, and what traditional customs it has. The Spring Festival, also known as the Lunar New Year, is one of the most important traditional festivals of the Chinese nation. It is not only a festival of the Han nationality, but also a festival of many ethnic minorities. The origins of the Spring Festival are very long, dating back to the Shang Dynasty, when people would worship heaven and earth on this day and give thanks to the heavens for their gifts. Later, the Spring Festival gradually became a festival of reunion, because the moon on this day is the roundest and brightest of the year, symbolizing the harmony and integrity of the family. There are many traditional customs of the Spring Festival, such as sticking Spring Festival couplets, hanging lanterns, setting off firecrackers, greeting the New Year, eating Chinese New Year's Eve dinner, making dumplings, watching the Spring Festival Gala, collecting money and so on. These customs reflect the cultural spirit and life wisdom of the Chinese nation, and also entrust people's yearning and blessings for a better life.
So, is the Spring Festival a festival celebrated by every ethnic group? In my opinion, the Spring Festival is a festival celebrated by most ethnic groups, but not every ethnic group celebrates it. Among the 56 ethnic groups in China, 22 ethnic groups regard the Spring Festival as their main festival, 18 ethnic groups regard the Spring Festival as their secondary festival, and 16 ethnic groups do not celebrate the Spring Festival or the Lunar New Year. So, which ethnic groups are not celebrating the Spring Festival? I'm going to introduce it to you:
Uyghurs: The Uyghurs are the third largest ethnic minority in China, mainly in the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region. The Uyghurs believe in Islam, and their main festivals are Eid al-Adha and Rouzi. Eid al-Adha is the Islamic Eid al-Adha festival, also known as Gurban, which is the largest festival in Islam and is equivalent to the "Thanksgiving Day" for Muslims. Rouzi is the Islamic Eid al-Fitr, also known as Rouzi Day, which is the second largest festival in Islam and is equivalent to the "Easter" of Muslims. The Uyghurs do not celebrate the Spring Festival, but they will pay New Year's greetings to their Han friends during the Spring Festival to express their friendship and blessings.
Kazakh: Kazakhs are the fourth largest ethnic minority in China, mainly distributed in Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, Gansu Province, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region and other places. The Kazakhs also believe in Islam, and their main festivals are Eid al-Adha and Rouzi. The Kazakhs do not celebrate the Spring Festival, but they will send milk, cheese, cream and other specialties to their Han friends during the Spring Festival to express their friendship and blessings.
Hui: The Hui are the fifth largest ethnic minority in China, distributed throughout the country, especially in Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, Qinghai Province, Gansu Province, Henan Province and other places. The Hui also believe in Islam, and their main festivals are Eid al-Adha and Rouzi. The Hui people do not celebrate the Spring Festival, but they will send halal food to their Han friends during the Spring Festival to express their friendship and blessings.
The above are the three ethnic groups I introduced that are not the Spring Festival, of course, there are many other ethnic groups that are also not the Spring Festival, such as Tibetans, Mongolians, Dai, Bai and so on. They have their own traditional festivals, such as Tibetan New Year, Gadami Festival, Loy Krathong, March Street, and many more. These festivals have their own cultural connotations and customs, and they are also worthy of our understanding and respect.
In short, the Spring Festival is a great reunion of the Chinese nation, a common festival for us, and a common culture. I hope that everyone can feel the warmth of family, the unity of the nation, and the charm of culture during the Spring Festival. Thank you for watching, I'm Wang Yangxin, see you next time!
