January 28, 2024 is the 71st World Leprosy Day and the 37th China Leprosy Festival. The theme of this year's event is "Comprehensively Eliminate the Harm of Leprosy and Promote Social Civilization and Progress". Recently, the Provincial Health Commission, the Disabled Persons' Federation and the Red Cross Society jointly issued the "Notice on Carrying out the Activities of the World Leprosy Prevention and Control Day in 2024", requiring all parts of the province to seriously organize and carry out publicity and condolence activities for the Leprosy Festival. On January 27, Zhang Baodi, Inspector of the Shaanxi Provincial Health Commission, and Zhang Qingping, director of the Shaanxi Provincial Institute for the Prevention and Control of Venereal Diseases (Shaanxi Provincial Institute for the Prevention and Control of Endemic Diseases), participated in the theme activity of the 2024 "World Leprosy Prevention and Control Day" in Hanzhong Sanatorium.
The event was presided over by Wang Qing'an, president of Hanzhong Sanatorium. Director Zhang Qingping extended holiday greetings to leprosy patients and recuperators, and encouraged patients to maintain a good attitude, actively cooperate with the management of the nursing home, and rest with peace of mind. Inspector Zhang Baodi affirmed the great contribution made by Hanzhong Sanatorium to the prevention and treatment of leprosy in the province in the past few decades, and pointed out that the prevention and treatment of leprosy is related to the health of the masses and social harmony and stability. At the same time, he encouraged leprosy prevention and control workers to learn from Ma Haide, Li Huanying and other models of leprosy prevention and control, and continue to carry forward the professional spirit of "respecting life, saving lives and helping the wounded, being willing to contribute, and having boundless love", so as to benefit patients and society with practical actions. Finally, the patients and recuperators were given holiday blessings and condolences such as rice, flour and oil.
In addition, the condolence group also conducted research and inspection on the family home, administrative office area, inpatient department and old site of Hanzhong Sanatorium, inspected the overall environment, patient housing, dressing room, etc., learned in detail about the hospital's hospital's **, nursing and life care, and inspected the infrastructure construction, production and fire safety management facilities in recent years.
