In 2022, China issued the "Medium and Long-term Plan for the Development of Hydrogen Energy Industry (2021-2035)", which clarified that hydrogen energy is an important part of the future national energy system. Since then, various localities have continued to promote the application of hydrogen energy in transportation, buildings, energy storage and other fields.
Chongqing, an important manufacturing city in the western region, has accelerated the research and development of key technologies and products for hydrogen fuel cell vehicles in recent years, based on the advantages of hydrogen energy resources and the automobile industry, and has been accumulating efforts to cultivate new industrial growth points. At the same time, it actively lays out hydrogen production and refueling facilities, continues to expand the application of hydrogen energy, and jointly builds the "Chengdu-Chongqing Hydrogen Corridor" with Sichuan.
On the eve of the Spring Festival, when I walked into the first exhibition hall of Bosch Hydrogen Power Systems (Chongqing) in Jiulongpo District, Chongqing, I saw a concentrated display of hydrogen power products whose key technical indicators have reached the industry-leading level.
The hydrogen powertrain is the 'heart' of hydrogen fuel cell vehicles. We have achieved mass production of hydrogen power modules from 75 kW to 190 kW, and 300 kW products have entered the vehicle verification stage, and are expected to be produced in small batches within the year. Xiong Xiaoyong, deputy general manager of the company, said that in 2023, the company will ship more than 1,000 hydrogen powertrain products, ranking among the top in China; Commercial vehicles equipped with its hydrogen power system have been launched in more than 10 provinces and cities including Chongqing and Beijing, with a total operating mileage of more than 4 million kilometers.

A number of hydrogen production and refueling facilities have also accelerated the layout in the Chengdu-Chongqing region. In December 2023, the 3,000 standard cubic meter hourly hydrogen fuel cell hydrogen refueling project, the largest vehicle hydrogen supply center in southwest China, was completed and put into operation in Changshou District, Chongqing. "It can meet the hydrogen demand of 260 hydrogen fuel logistics heavy-duty trucks every day, and is expected to help reduce CO2 emissions per year70,000 tons. The promotion and application of hydrogen fuel cell vehicles is connected with carbon reduction and pollution reduction on the one hand, and industrial development on the other. To this end, China has accelerated the demonstration operation of buses and logistics vehicles. By the end of 2023, Chongqing has promoted a total of 306 hydrogen fuel cell vehicles. According to the "Chengdu-Chongqing Hydrogen Corridor" development plan, the two places will invest a total of about 1,000 hydrogen fuel cell logistics vehicles by 2025.
The industry believes that with the accelerated application and popularization of hydrogen fuel cell vehicles in large-load, long-endurance and high-intensity scenarios, it will continue to promote pollution reduction and carbon reduction in the transportation sector and boost green and low-carbon development.
