As an English educator, my heart is filled with a passion for education. I know that the moment I walk into the classroom, I am not only a transmitter of knowledge, but also a guide for students' growth. Every time I stand on the podium and look at a group of students who are eager to learn, my heart is filled with joy and awe. Teaching English is not only my profession, but also my passion, and through the language I hope to open a window for students to have more opportunities to contact other worlds and become better people. Education is not about indoctrinationIt's about lighting the flameI entered Quyuan in 2003 and have since stepped onto the "three-foot podium". Since his appointment, he has been responsible for teaching many courses such as "College English", "Comprehensive English", "English Subject Teaching Theory", and "English Teaching School". I have always believed that education is not about indoctrination, but about lighting a fire. In teaching, I prefer to give the class to the students and try to "make learning really happen". I often set up many different presentations and interactive sessions in my classes to guide students to explore knowledge and explore the unknown. The purpose of education is not only to impart knowledge, but also to teach students to think independently and learn independently. If we are satisfied with imparting superficial knowledge to our students, it will be difficult for them to respond to the unknown and challenges. When teachers focus on cultivating students' interests, methods and skills, they are able to learn and explore the unknown independently.
From 2017 to 2018, I served as the first batch of undergraduate class teachers in the college, and in addition to classroom teaching, I actively answered students' questions outside of class. I often tell my students, "If you have any confusion or difficulties, you can always contact me!" "In my opinion, students come with questions and they have the greatest trust in me. I will always pay attention to the adaptation of students who change majors in the initial stage, keep abreast of their problems, and provide advice and guidance according to the specific situation. Sometimes I also talk to my outstanding classmates to help them better plan their studies and future, and set higher goals together. I often have students ask me about study methods, school selection, exam preparation advice, study abroad, academic planning, etc. Whenever there is a student consultation, I will do my best to provide the best help to the student. A student once came to my office to inquire about the preparation for the postgraduate entrance examination, but the student's initial examination results were not satisfactory, and he was very unconfident in himself and at a loss. After understanding the situation, I told the student to build up confidence, plan well, and prepare for the exam quickly, and gave corresponding advice. After following my advice, she was no longer as anxious as before, but clarified the direction of her efforts, took positive actions, and was successfully admitted to the university she applied for. In many cases, I will also actively contact my former graduates to provide help to the current students.
The mission of education is not just to impart knowledge, but to foster students' innovative thinking, teamwork and social responsibility. In this fast-paced era, we need to educate young people who can adapt to the changing world, have the courage to pursue their dreams, and embrace the future. In terms of graduate training, I attach great importance to team training and strengthen peer cooperation, not only organizing graduate students to hold group meetings regularly to push lecture information for students, but also inviting senior graduate students to share their learning experience during group reports, and paying attention to the "passing on and helping" of the team.
I am very strict with the graduate students I supervise, focusing on strengthening their training in scientific research methods and writing. In the first group meeting with the first graduate students, I will give you a rough plan for your future graduate life, and I will also clarify the specific goals and requirements for each semester. On the basis of unified requirements, I will assign different tasks according to the different personality characteristics of students. In terms of topic selection, I respect students' own interests very much and give students ample room for choice. Through a series of initiatives, the graduate students under my supervision have academic publications every year, and many graduate students have won national and provincial awards. Every time I graduate from graduate school, I give them books and words before I leave school, hoping that these books can inspire them to grow further in their new journey in life. There is no love for studentsThere is no real educationI love my profession and I love every student. In my mind, the student's business is the biggest thing. No matter how busy I am, I will do my best to do what is helpful to my students. Once, I fainted in the middle of the night due to drug allergies, and after being taken to the hospital, the medical staff immediately gave me an anti-allergy**, and the allergic reaction was significantly relieved the next morning. Since I had agreed to the students' invitation to be a judge for the student speech contest, I was eager to get well so that I could participate in the students' activities. That night, I showed up as promised, and the event lasted from 7 o'clock to 10 o'clock. I still vividly remember the discomfort caused by allergic reactions, but what makes me happiest is that I fulfilled my promise to my students.
In addition to classroom learning, I also actively encourage students to participate in various professional competitions to improve their comprehensive language skills. In the past five years, I have guided students to participate in competitions as an instructor many times, and I have won many awards. Although the process of guiding students to prepare for the competition is hard, I prefer to see this process as a good opportunity to teach by example. In the process of instructing students, I will make detailed plans for students, and it is normal to train in the summer and stay up late in the winter. When preparing for the competition, I will also provide personalized guidance according to the characteristics of students, and pay more attention to personal all-round growth while improving students' professional ability.
There was a student with a poor foundation who was selected to participate in the provincial professional skills competition, and this student lacked self-confidence and was not highly motivated to prepare for the competition. After a comprehensive understanding of the student's personality traits, I developed a detailed and specific guidance plan. Combined with the cases of previous students, we help students to correct their attitudes, and at the same time strive to establish students' self-confidence, so that students can see their own progress. The hard work is not only for the students' excellent performance in the competition, but also for the students' own transformation and in-depth understanding of the teaching profession. After graduating, this student successfully joined a municipal key primary school, and she also shared her joy and gratitude with me at the first time.
Having taught for many years, I have realized the long-term and far-reaching impact of education. In my opinion, loving students is an important prerequisite for the implementation of education, and without love for students, there is no real education. Teachers should not only impart book knowledge, but also become "Mr. Big" who shapes the character of students. I often reflect on myself and think about how to improve teaching, stimulate students' interest in learning, and cultivate students' ability to innovate. At the same time, I will also encourage students to explore and ask questions, so that they can try different ways to solve problems and acquire knowledge through practical operations and experiences.
The growth and success of every student is my greatest honor and happiness, and I am willing to continue to dedicate my enthusiasm and wisdom to the cause of education, sow hope in the field of education, and carry the future.
