Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Coordinated Development City Observation Ten years of changes: convenient transportation network extends the "work and life circle" of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei

The sky was bright, Xue Chen, who lives in Langfang, Hebei Province, parked his private car and hurriedly walked into Yongqing East Station, ready to take the Jinxing intercity train to Beijing to work.

After graduating from university, Xue Chen stayed in Beijing to work, and the combination of "high-speed rail + subway" became her preferred way to commute. In December last year, the Jinxing intercity railway was officially opened, and Xue Chen could take the high-speed train from Yongqing East Station to Beijing Daxing International Airport in about 15 minutes, and it would take more than 20 minutes to reach the company after changing to the subway.

The opening and operation of the Jinxing Intercity Railway has ended the history of Yongqing County and Anci District of Langfang City not being connected to high-speed rail, and provided local residents with a safer, greener, more efficient and more comfortable way to travel. In recent years, the encrypted Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei transportation network has brought cities in the region "closer and closer", and Xue Chen's experience is the epitome of many residents living a "two-city life".

In August 2008, China's first high-speed railway with a design speed of 350 kilometers per hour, the Beijing-Tianjin Intercity Railway, was put into operation. Since then, the number of passengers commuting between Beijing and Tianjin has gradually increased. Subsequently, the Beijing-Tianjin Intercity Railway was extended to Yujiapu Station (later renamed "Binhai Station") in Binhai New Area, and passengers can reach Tianjin Binhai New Area in only about 1 hour from Beijing South Railway Station.

In May 2021, Hanwang Technology Co., Ltd. and China North Talent Market jointly established Tianjin North Hanwang Technology Co., Ltd. in Tianjin Binhai-Zhongguancun Science and Technology Park, and Li Zhifeng, chairman of Tianjin North Hanwang Technology Co., Ltd., came to the shore of Bohai Bay, and traveled to and from Beijing and Tianjin more frequently.

Convenient transportation has played a role in the exchange of talents and the development of enterprises between the two places. Li Zhifeng said that the company's employees are mainly from Beijing and Tianjin, and many people have settled around the park.

Wuqing Station, located between Beijing and Tianjin, is an important stop of the Beijing-Tianjin Intercity Railway and a "bright window" to observe the coordinated development of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei.

This year is the 13th year that Yao Bing, the stationmaster of Wuqing Station of China Railway Beijing Bureau Group, has come to work in the station. Since 2011, he has witnessed the transformation and growth of this station, and also felt the changes brought by the Beijing-Tianjin intercity railway to Wuqing.

When I first came here to work, Wuqing Station only sent more than 3,000 passengers per day; Today, we send nearly 10,000 passengers every day, about three times as many as before. Yao Bing said.

Recalling the past, Yao Bing was full of emotion. "When I first arrived, there were only a few scattered real estate projects around, and the supporting business districts and living facilities had not yet been fully completed. With the implementation of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei coordinated development strategy, many people working in Beijing have come to live in Wuqing, which has stimulated a variety of consumer formats such as supermarkets to gather around the high-speed rail station. He said.

In order to meet the travel needs of passengers, Wuqing Station was also expanded in 2014, and the station area increased to more than 4,400 square meters. Yao Bing said that there are still many tourists who come to consume, shop, and travel, and the interspersed "commuting flow" and "consumption flow" make the vitality of this stop continue to improve.

Florentia Village Tianjin, located right next to Wuqing Station, is a prime footnote to the vibrant "high-speed rail economy". Since the beginning of the year, this special theme consumer business district has attracted many tourists from the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region.

At night, Florentia Village is brightly lit and vibrant. Pei Lichen, the EMU driver of the Tianjin Locomotive Depot of China Railway Beijing Bureau Group, said with a smile that the road traffic running side by side on both sides of the Beijing-Tianjin intercity railway line is also very large, and the traffic is very busy.

Yuan Xiwei, who has been rooted in Wuqing since he was a child and works in the special work headquarters of the district's "New Business District", said that the three projects of Tianjin Florentia Village, V1 Auto World and Creative Milan Fashion and Life Plaza attract about 10 million visitors every year, with many tourists coming from Beijing, Hebei and other places. "In just a few minutes, the Beijing-Tianjin intercity stop has made Wuqing change dramatically. ”

It's not just high-speed rail. In recent years, innovative travel modes such as "customized express buses" around Beijing have also provided new options for residents in Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei to expand their work and life circles.

Today, Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei has basically formed a multi-node, grid-like, full-coverage comprehensive transportation network, and the beautiful vision of people enjoying their travel and goods flowing smoothly is gradually becoming a reality. Liu Daogang, deputy director of the Tianjin Municipal Transportation Commission, said that with the in-depth promotion of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei coordinated development strategy, the interconnection of transportation has promoted the flow of production factors, and also driven regional economic development and accelerated the pace of collaborative innovation in science and technology. In the future, Tianjin will work with Beijing and Hebei to continuously improve the level of travel facilitation for the masses.
