The Xishuangbanna Tropical Botanical Garden of the Chinese Academy of Sciences introduced seeds from the Shanghai Botanical Garden in August 2023, which is also the first time that the garden has introduced seeds. Orontium aquaticum, also known as Golden Club, is a plant of the genus Araceae Araceae, and its genus name comes from the Greek word O'Onti. It is a perennial evergreen herbaceous plant native to the southeastern United States, where it is commonly found in swamps, ponds, and slow-flowing streams. Because the surface of the leaves is covered with waxy hoarfrost, which looks dry when removed from water, this plant is sometimes referred to as a never-wet plant.
There are also a large number of colorful leaf plants in the park, allowing visitors to appreciate the gorgeous colorful leaves in the season when flowers are scarce. It is reported that there are nearly 100 species, such as all kinds of color-leaved Su, variegated wood, pineapple, color-leaved taro, vermilion banana and other plants will show the color of the leaves, not only colorful, but also different forms, giving people a strong visual impact: yellow, red, white, purple and other colors of mixed color plant group, with its brilliant colors for people to bring warmth and vitality.
