In order to achieve large-scale industrial and commercial agglomeration development, Vietnam has established a number of economic development zones, including industrial zones and coastal economic zones, which have implemented various incentive development policies. As of October 2023, there are 397 established industrial zones in Vietnam, of which 295 are operational, 106 are under construction, and 563 are under planning, according to the VARS report. Vietnam's industrial parks have a high occupancy rate of 80% on average, with 83% in key provinces and cities in the north and 91% in key provinces and cities in the south. There are three major industrial zones in Vietnam, namely the Northern Industrial Zone, the Central Industrial Zone, and the Southern Industrial Zone. 1. Northern Industrial Zone

The Northern Economic Zone includes 7 provinces and cities, including Hanoi, Haiphong, Quang Ninh, Vinh Phuc, Bac Ninh, Hai Duong, and Hung Yen. The region borders China and accounts for 32% of the country's GDP. 2. Central Industrial Zone

The central key economic zone includes five major provinces and cities, including Hue, Da Nang, Quang Nam, Quang Ngai and Binh Dinh, accounting for 76% of the country's population. The traffic belt that passes through the area includes: National Highway 1A (Dinghua - Da Nang - Quang Nam - Quang Dinh Ngai Gi), National Highway 148 (Guangang - Quang Nam), National Highway 24C (Quang Ngai - Quang Nam), National Highway 19B (Binh Dinh - Quang Dinh - Quang Dinh). 3. Southern Industrial Zone

The Southern Economic Zone includes 8 Dashou cities, including Ho Chi Minh City, Binh Duong, Dong Kin, Long An, Binh Phuoc, Ba Ria - Vung Tau, Tien Giang and Tay Ninh, contributing 40% of the country's GDP and accounting for 42% of Vietnam's total FD1 capital. In addition, Ho Chi Minh City and Ba Ria - Vung Tau province also have the largest seaports in the south, namely Cat Cai Port and Cai Mep-thi Vai Port, which contribute to the increase in the international flow of goods.

Binh Duong is the province with the largest industrial park area in Vietnam, with an area of 12 industrial parksThere are 31 industrial parks in 721 hectares, and Dong Kin' Province has the largest number of industrial parks in operation in the country, with an occupancy rate of about 84%.
