According to a report by foreign media WCCFTECH, Qualcomm is about to launch a Snapdragon X Elite CPU for PC, and the data of the latest benchmark software test has been released, and its 12-core version is comparable to the current AMD and Intel processors.

According to Geekbench 6, the 12-core CPU performance of the Snapdragon X Elite is on par with the AMD Ryzen 8040 "Hawk Point" and Intel Core Ultra "Meteor Lake" chips. Among them, Qualcomm Snapdragon X Elite's 12-core CPU has a total of 8 high-performance cores, with 4 performance-optimized cores, built on TSMC's 4nm process.

Whereas, the Snapdragon X Elite has a 12-core clock speed of 1-2 cores and 43 GHz, the other cores are all-core 38 GHz with 42 MB scratch memory. And while the Geekbench 6 benchmark data for the Snapdragon X Elite's 12-core CPU has been released, it shows competitive performance. However, the final result will not be confirmed until the launch of the product around mid-2024.

According to the report, the Snapdragon X Elite's 12-core CPU has a base clock of 401 GHz, which is also the average tick. In the Geekbench 6 benchmark software, the CPU is identified as an armv8 (64-bit) Family 8 Model 1 Revision 201, model number X1E80100, running on the Qualcomm Z-WXX platform with 32 GB of LPDDR5X memory. In terms of performance, the CPU scored 2,574 points in the single-core test and 12,562 points in the multi-core test.

Based on the results, it can be seen that the Snapdragon X Elite's 12-core CPU is in a strong position compared to other competitor chips such as AMD and Intel. The Intel Core Ultra 9 185H leads the way in multithreaded benchmarking, while AMD's Ryzen 9 7940HS lags slightly behind. But that's to be expected, as the Ryzen 9 7940HS is an 8-core chip, and it can't be compared to a 12-core Snapdragon or 16-core Intel product. As for whether the final result is so, consumers should be able to get an answer soon as the time of release gets closer.
