Hello everyone, I am an old farmer engaged in animal husbandry in the countryside, and today I would like to share with you a seemingly simple but worthy of deep thought: which industry does animal husbandry belong to in the national economy? The answer to this question is not only a theoretical cognition for us farmers, but also an important guide for our daily life and industrial development.
In economics, the national economy is usually divided into three major industries, namely the primary, secondary, and tertiary industries. The primary sector consists mainly of agriculture, forestry, animal husbandry and fishery, which are directly dependent on natural resources and provide primary products through labour processing. Obviously, animal husbandry, as a part of agriculture, naturally belongs to the category of primary industry.
But animal husbandry is not simply about grazing, feeding and slaughtering. In modern society, with the development of science and technology and the extension of the industrial chain, the connotation of animal husbandry is also constantly expanding and deepening. For example, we have covered the whole process from primary production to deep processing and then to commodity circulation from breeding, breeding, disease prevention and control, to meat processing, dairy manufacturing, leather product production, etc.
Among them, the breeding link of animal husbandry is still the primary industry, because it directly obtains resources (such as forage and feed) from nature, and converts them into food, fur and other primary products through farmed animals. However, the subsequent slaughtering, segmentation, refrigeration, transportation, processing and other links have essentially crossed over to the secondary industry - manufacturing, realizing the value-added and diversification of products. And related businesses such as brand building, marketing, logistics and distribution, sales and services, etc., are integrated into the service industry of the tertiary industry.
Therefore, we can say that animal husbandry is not only an important part of the primary industry, but also a link between the primary industry and the primary industry.
Second, the bridge between the tertiary industry. The development of animal husbandry has not only promoted the modernization process of the primary industry, but also led to the progress of related manufacturing and service industries, and promoted the optimization and upgrading of the entire national economic structure.
In our daily work, we feel not only the hardships of feeding cattle, sheep, chickens and ducks, but also the changing role of animal husbandry in economic development. We are no longer a simple farmer, but a builder who participates in the entire industrial chain. With the injection of scientific and technological strength, we can continuously improve the output value and efficiency of animal husbandry through refined breeding, intelligent monitoring, green breeding, etc., so that it can play a greater role in the development of the national economy.
So, to answer the initial question, animal husbandry is undoubtedly the main force of the primary industry, but it also crosses the first.
Second, the boundary of the tertiary industry has formed a multi-dimensional and three-dimensional industrial system. This also reminds us that as a farmer in the new era, we should keep up with the pace of the times, actively learn new technologies, broaden our horizons, use more advanced concepts and methods to operate and develop our animal husbandry, and jointly promote the process of China's agricultural modernization.
