The British Emirate adds another risk of secession

In recent years, the British Emirate has been in the shadow of **. Scotland held a referendum on independence, which narrowly did not pass. The Northern Ireland Republican Army, the originator of the Republican Army, no longer resorts to violence, but it is still ready to move.

Previously, unlike Ireland, which was dominated by the Roman Ecumenical sect of Yahism (commonly known as "Catholicism" in China), Northern Ireland was dominated by the Protestant sect of Yahism, and was generally closer to England. But now things have changed, and for the first time nationalism in Northern Ireland has overwhelmed theism.

On Saturday (3 February), Michelle O'Neill, an Irish nationalist and Sinn Féin's female vice president, was appointed Chief Minister.

"This is a historic day that represents a new dawn," O'Neill said. "Such a day would come that would be unimaginable for my parents' and grandparents' generation. ”

O'Neill, 47, was born in the Republic of Ireland but grew up in Northern Ireland. She comes from a family with ties to the radical IRA. Her father was imprisoned by British authorities as a member of the IRA, one of her uncles raised money for the group, and two of her cousins were shot dead by British security forces**.

A member of Sinn Féin, a party affiliated with the IRA, O'Neill was elected to the District Council of Dungannon in 2005, replacing her father. She was elected to the Stormont Assembly in 2007.

Under the Good Friday Peace Agreement reached in 1998, regional executive power was shared equally between the two main political parties in Northern Ireland, Sinn Féin and Democratic Unity** (DUP).

O'Neill has been entitled to the position since Sinn Fein won a majority in the May 2022 elections. However, due to the post-Brexit rules, DUP refused to enter power-sharing, resulting in Northern Ireland being unable to establish and functioning, and it has been empty to this day.

Last week, DUP finally agreed to reach an agreement with the UK**, and the two-year political impasse is finally coming to an end.

However, the official arrival of Northern Irish nationalists in power may well have paved the way for Northern Ireland's independence.
