Talking about the production process of galvanized rectangular tubes

Mondo Culture Updated on 2024-02-21

Galvanized rectangular pipes, because of their structural characteristics and excellent anti-corrosion performance, have been widely used in many industries such as construction, electric power, and automobiles. Its production process mainly includes the following steps:

1. Raw material preparation: select high-quality carbon structural steel or low-alloy high-strength steel as raw materials, and cut them into square tubes or rectangular tube blanks of predetermined lengths and specifications.

2. Hot rolling forming: the tube blank is heated to a plastic state at high temperature, and then continuously rolled on a special rolling mill to form a square tube or rectangular cross-section shape.

3. Pickling and rust removal: Iron oxide scale will remain on the surface of the rolled steel pipe, and these impurities need to be removed through the pickling process to ensure the quality of the subsequent galvanized layer.

4. Zinc layer electroplating: After the steel pipe is cleaned and dried, it is immersed in the electrolyte containing zinc salt, and the zinc ions are deposited on the surface of the steel pipe with the help of electric current to form a uniform and dense galvanized layer, which has the effect of anti-corrosion and anti-rust.

5. Cooling treatment: After the electroplating process is completed, the steel pipe needs to be quickly cooled and solidified to prevent the molten flow of zinc from affecting the quality of the zinc layer.

6. Inspection and packaging: Carry out comprehensive performance testing on the galvanized rectangular pipes produced, including dimensional accuracy, mechanical properties and thickness of zinc layer, etc., and package them according to customer requirements after passing the qualifications to ensure the safe transportation and delivery of the products.

In summary, the production process of galvanized rectangular tube covers multiple links such as raw material selection, hot rolling forming, surface treatment, electrogalvanized layer and post-inspection, and each step is very important to its product quality and anti-corrosion effect.
